The wires on my 510 inline battery passthrough from Cignot started fraying out just where they go into the usb port connector and finally broke all the way through on one side and stopped working. I was thinking I could cut and splice the line, but it's just too close to that connector. Can I use any old usb connector and splice the lines further down? Or is it some special wire or special USB connector I need to use that goes into the battery case?
I ordered a new one in the meantime and I'm going to use electrical tape at that connection point to prevent it from happening again. I sit with the laptop on my lap alot and the wire hangs down, and it's pretty flimsy and bends a lot.
I am not a hardware person at all, but to me it looks like just wires.
TIA
