I know in everything I ever pre-ordered with Jason @ ElectroNicStix as soon as he has a Tracking Number he gives it to me so I can track his In-Coming shipments just so I know when to expect my new goodies and honestly it still amazes me that he does that for his customers he also posts the info in his sub-forums here on ECF for everyone to see In my opinion he constantly goes above and beyond what most if not all retailers are willing to do... I never worry about not getting my stuff any and all info is always freely given and that is something he doesnt need to do but does anyway which again just impresses me all vendors should use this example as a way to conduct business...

Same here. Don't you just love seeing that "Cleared/Released from Customs" when you know something you've ordered is in that shipment. Day or 2 to get to him and within hours I've got a tracking number to me.

Killing my bank account with all his "sales" though. I'm a sucker for a sale.

Last I checked Janty had yet to receive them and was also expecting them in May so before ordering you may want to verify they actually have them in stock... but from personal experience with Jason @ ElectroNicStix his customer service, $6.00 flat rate shipping and 2 day delivery times as well as his upfront honesty Ill stick with his one on one customer service and attention to detail not to mention his version is a few bucks cheaper and money is money a dollar saved is a dollar earned...

Janty is currently selling and shipping usb passthroughs for the 510/Dura.

I second the check on true availability. Not from a don't buy perspective, but just a FYI. The more you know and all that.

If it matters and it will to some, Janty's is black only. At Electronicstix you can chose white or black.

Nothing against Janty I personally have never used them but my perspective is that with all the complaints about warranty issues and shipments being delayed Ill stick with the lil guy who I can call directly and ask whats up and get an answer within 2 hours and a tracking number within 30 mins of placing an order... as well as tracking numbers for incoming shipments on pre-order stock to me thats worth a million times more than a brand name...

I've ordered from both multiple times. Pre-order and regular order. Actually I have a special order out with Jason right now. And for all your above stated reasons I'll most likely order 2 from him, one of each color, before the weekend is out. Paid my CC today, so for a couple days at least I'll have to wrestle with the whole "Do you really need it?" argument before I decide "Well, of course I do!"

I question I would like to raise (having never used a USB passthrough) is: is this really a USB passthrough? Since it has a battery box attached, I would say this is actually a battery box passthrough that is charged by USB... or am I splitting hairs? My understanding is that if the battery goes bad, the passthrough will not function.

Is there a real need for a Kensington Powerpack... it seems like you could just carry around some spare charged batteries (the Janty e-cigar battery). I'm wondering how long they last?

Ha! I hear ya but for the record before posting I did call Jeff at Janty and they do have them in stock and are shipping them. I have also ordered plenty from Janty and have gotten great service. To each is own everyone has their preferred shops, I just wanted to give ya'll a heads up that someone actually had them in stock and was shipping them.

After I read your post, I ordered mine monday night. It shipped tuesday, and I received it wednesday (yesterday). AWESOME service and product!

Alright KreeL, so give... how does it work, how does it perform, more vapor than with a battery, what?

I'm on the fence, but it might not take much to put me over the edge... :)

It comes with an e-cigar battery inline. It is identical to vaping on a freshly charged batt on EVERY puff! Great taste and vapor. If you need to run an errand, you can simply unplug it from the port and carry the battery in your pocket and continue vaping. The e-cigar battery is a 700mAh so it would likely last you the good part of a day or longer without any hookup. The little manual switch operates perfectly, draws easy, I can't put it down!

I am so impressed I can't see straight. :)

Thanks, KreeL! Alright, I'm sold, but I'm going to have to wait a week or two as I've already blown my vaping budget for the month...

Sounds like rsngfrce pretty much pegged it a few posts up, but I'm still not sure I understand the actual implementation - the connection to the atomizer just holds the switch, the battery is in the rectangular box, and you disconnect from the computer side and can carry the whole thing with you and it holds a charge?

Sorry for asking so many questions, but I've never seen or used one of these... I've read what I could find on this one, and have seen a few pictures, but still am not getting the full effect... :)

Yes, exactly!

Could you please :nun: take and post some pictures of it? I'm curious about what type of battery (model #'s etc) is in the unit. Is the battery easily replaced?

This is the battery from Janty:

JANTY ACCESSORIES E-CIGAR BATTERIES

The battery I received from Janty in my passthrough and the spare I ordered from them (from that link) don't look exactly like that... they are blue and say "IRC10440 360mAh" on them, and that is all they say.

It is about the size of a AAA battery. I believe it is 360mAh, not 700mAh, that's what mine says. The battery is easily replaced, the battery box has a standard style tabbed door.

Here is an older post by Kate about batteries and a charger she uses for the Kissbox passthrough (Same battery as the 510 passthrough):

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...cussion/3393-janty-usb-battery.html#post53323

Note to avoid confusion: an external charger IS NOT required. However the 510 passthrough has nothing to indicate the state of the battery charge, so it might be useful if you want to keep a supply of charged batteries on hand.

I stand corrected. It IS a 360mAh battery. I don't know where I got the 700 from...aaarghh. And yes, you simply unplug and take it with you.

The Janty pics are much better than my limited photography skills can achieve.

Very good point to make.

If you still want photos, let me know specifically what you want to see... though my wife has absconded with my passthrough tonight...
