Funny thing is, on my first order I bought a replacement battery.
I did not realize I needed to order the USB Passthru Unit as well.

/Doh!

Well, when my vendor gets restocked (when China re-opens for business) my Passthru will be on it's way! :)

I want to specially give rjp44 a /wave to West Chester from Anderson!

the battery on a passthrough can fail? i thought it wasn't so much a battery as (essentially) plugging the atomizer into an outlet.

Assuming we are talking about the same thing, yes, as said above rechargeable batteries will fail over time. Just as a 510 battery itself will fail over time, or the battery in your cell phone, cordless phone, etc. Of course these e-cig batteries tend to die much quicker due to the heavy strain put on them by the atomizer.

BUT, you should know that not all passthroughs have inline batteries. Those without them of course have no battery to fail. There are positives & negatives to both styles, and it comes down to preference. There are other threads around here with more info. Too lazy to provide links right now. :)

The PS model looks rock solid, that might be a bad thing in a way, just due to the lack of cord flexibility - I was looking at them last night and weighing up wether to go battery or batteryless...still ain't decided.

.

A thread I read a couple of weeks ago, and so don't know just where it's located, discussed this PT. From the info of users I gathered that the cord was a little stiff, but with use over a couiple of months became more flexible. You might try using search to look for Puresmoker PT.

from what I know about the PS PT
Is that its a 5V device
and Made better then the regular PT for the 510

But it being a 5v means u need at least 1.5 amps to get the full effect
and some computers only push .5 A on the USB Side

Thats they the normal 510 PT have a Inline batt . B/c when U draw ur using the Bat and getting the full amps and using the USB to keep the batt Charged

that's what I thought too haha but I've never had one and don't plan on it, I don't spend enough time in front of the computer to need one.

Good point, but do you spend a lot of time in front of the TV or driving?

All you need is a 110v to USB adapter for home or a 12v cig lighter to USB adapter for the car. You can vape forever without a single battery swap. Just a thought.

A couple months ago we had to do a 16 hour drive for a funeral. I used my cig lighter adapter & PT the whole time and it was great! Just had to top off the cart every now & then.

And to add to that: the PS PT sends more voltage to your atty than it was designed for, which could cause premature death. On the plus side, if it does get enough amps, they supposedly give you improved throat hit and vapor.

But what I like about the inline battery type is that it not only provides the correct voltage to the atty, but you can also unplug it and continue to use it (obviously the battery will run down eventually). If you don't mind your e-cig being tethered to a cord, you could pretty much avoid any battery swapping at all as you go about your day. Just plug it in whenever you get an opportunity (while in the car, checking your email, near an outlet) and run off the battery when you're away from those power sources.

It boils down to preference, and I personally prefer the inline battery type.
