Initial thoughts (more to come later) after one full day (2 fills vaped).

This is a 3 ml tank that you slip a modified boge 510 carto into for $25 with a carto, delrin drip tip, and tank all included in the $25 price tag.
Later this week, they will have a 5 ml tank for sale, you can buy just the 5 ml tube for $6 and it is compatible with the end caps for the 3 ml tank, so if you want to get the 3 ml version now and pay another $6 later for the 5 ml tube, that is an option.
Friday at about 3:30 PM, I ordered the tank and 15 premodded low resistance cartos (which, by the way, are rated at 2 ohms so if you are using a Provari, these are perfect, just set your Provari to 4 volts for 8 watts) for $60 before shipping, then I paid another $6 for shipping (they have a slightly cheaper method for shipping that does not include tracking for I believe $4 and they have a really expensive overnight shipping for more money than I cared to spend). I received the standard USPS box on Monday (I live only 150 miles from their storefront). FYI, it comes with a Delrin driptip as well (more on this in a bit).
The first thing I noticed is that everything seemed to be loose in the box. Weird.
Opened the box and inside there was a ziplock bag with 14 cartos and the tank already assembled with the 15th carto inside. Apparently, no filler was used to keep everything from rattling around, I guess there was no real reason, not like anything could have been damaged...
Took the tank (it already had a carto in it) out of the bag, resealed the bag (afterwards, putting the bag to the side) and began to look at the tank. Simple design. It has really five components - a 510 carto, the mouthpiece (it came with a Delrin driptip which I didnt realize when I ordered it), a clear plastic tube (which is the outer 'wall' of the tank) and two end caps that attach to the top and bottom of the plastic tube. The end caps each have a hole for the cartomizer to go thru.
Its simple, neat.
So, since everything was still assembled, I pushed the carto from the threaded end up and grabbed the other end (where the driptip was) and pulled it out of the tank (it is not a tight fit, its really easy to remove the carto) and I put it to the side, pulled each end cap off which were a snug but not tight fit and washed it out with first a round of distilled water and then a second round with an ounce of vodka, then rinsed it off and dried it out. I then reattached the two black end caps (they are snug but not tight). I forgot to lubricate the caps - you are supposed to use either VG/PG non flavored juice to lubricate the inside of the clear tube around the entire diameter of where the black end caps will touch - so top and bottom of the tube but I forgot to do that - will do that later today once my tank is empty.
I then took the carto I previously had put to the side that still had the driptip attached and pushed it thru the center hole on one of the caps downward until it just barely touched the bottom cap (so the drip tip was sticking up out of one end of the tank), then turned the tank so the mouth piece was now pointing downwards to the floor and pushed down 'very' slightly on the threaded end (so I had to poke my finger inside the hole of the cap on the tank where the threaded end of the carto was) to give me a little bit of space to fill. Took my trusty bottle of peanut butter 100% VG, slipped the tip inside the hole and tried to angle it to the side at a 45 degree angle and began filling.
No leaks yet, neat.
After it was around 80% full, keeping the mouth piece on the carto pointing toward the ground, I carefully pushed from the bottom, up on the mouthpiece and slipped the threaded end of the carto 'up' thru the hole until the threaded end was all of the way extended outside of the tank but no more than that was sticking out (hard to explain, watch the video above where he talks about how to cut your own cartos and you'll see how far I pushed the carto up).
I turned the tank in my hand, shook it slightly, shook it hard, bounced up and down with it, tossed it on the carpet, then I tied it to my dogs collar and took him for a 30 minute walk. After all of that, got back to the house and checked it...
No leaks, neat.
I decided, now its time to try vaping on it. I took the delrin mouthpiece off, dripping 2-3 drops into the inside of the top of the carto and replaced the mouthpiece (this is to prime it but another alternative would be to just take 2-3 drags without pushing the button on your vaping device, if you forget / dont want to deal with putting a couple drops in).
I carefully screwed the tank onto my Provari when I noticed one minor thing - the tank will continue to turn if you are gripping from the tank (there is little to no leverage on the tank and the carto so it will just continue to 'slip' or turn). No biggie, I gripped the mouthpiece and twisted a slight bit more to make sure the carto was secured. I set the Provari to 4 volts after checking the current resistance on the carto (which measured 2 ohms - these are low resistance cartos).
Now, all of this to get to the real question everyone has been waiting for, did it work?
After an hour or so, I went to work driving an 18 wheeler about 400 miles worth of driving around locally here in San Antonio making deliveries and such. This was the real test, could I have this thing in my shirt pocket and have it survive without leaking while I shifted and make the numerous turns I had to make during my 12 hours of driving. EVERY tank system I have tried that isnt manually activated (pushing a button every few inhales to 're-prime' the carto/atty) did not survive everything I did above (putting it on my dogs collar and taking it on the road) without leaking.
1. I can say it didnt leak during the first 16 hours I have used it and stress tested it.
2. It vapes exactly like a 2 ohm Boge carto does, as long as you have enough liquid in the tank that it is getting into both slits on the carto (you need to make sure the liquid will go thru BOTH slits on the carto so if you are tipping it slightly to take a hit, realize that liquid is shifting and if there isnt enough to cover both holes, it wont perform as well).
3. It was consistent the entire night. Only once (and remember, I filled twice today - Im at the end of my second fill now) did I have to take a couple of hits without firing the device in order to get liquid up into the carto. I can deal with this. Out of what must have been 200+ hits I had to take 5 seconds to do two quick 'cold' hits.
4. It works with 100% VG. I am using the thickest juice I have ever used (and trust me, its THICK) and it had no problem.
5. Absolutely NO gargling. There is a very slight 'hiss' that you probably wont even hear unless you are in a VERY quiet environment. In fact, its quieter than a 510 Boge without the tank.
Now, there are three things you should be aware of about these (some might consider these 'cons' or 'negatives', I prefer to think of them as 'things to keep in mind').
1. Remember that NOTHING is securing the tank to the carto except pressure on both holes in the end caps making contact with the carto and natural air pressure. So, (I havent yet tried this as this thought just came to me), if you grip the clear tube to lift your PV, this could in theory cause the tank to slip up and over the top of the carto causing your PV to fall to the ground (with the carto attached to the PV), and the liquid in the tank to drain out of the bottom of the tank (because the bottom hole is no longer sealed by the carto since it separated). Once I have emptied my tank, Ill try shaking it while gripping the clear tank to see if I can get them to separate. But regardless of the results of my experiment, I would highly recommend picking your PV up from the battery end of the unit and NOT from the tank / mouthpiece.
2. You might go thru more juice than you normally do. Dont ask me the reason, my guess is that maybe I run my cartos dry when used by themselves but the tank system always keeps the carto saturated with just the right amount of liquid.
3. These do require modifying a Boge carto. Watch the video above for details. You can buy them premodded from vaporescence if you want for $2.50 a piece (which is what I opted to do). When you order them, make sure you select the 'Slotted 510 Cartomizer' if you want them premodded.
Also, keep in mind, this tank is no different than a Boge carto as far as the vaping experience. The only thing this thing solves is constant refilling. Other than that, things like vapor production, heat, etc are exactly the same as using the same carto without the tank.
So, in short, so far, this is awesome. On days I worked, I usually bought analog cigs because I simply cannot constantly keep filling a carto. Two fills a night are about all I can make time for. This (assuming it continues to work for me) will allow me to vape on the road.
