901 atties are crap. You are about to find out this summer when it gets hot outside. Of the ecigs I've tried, only the 510 atties and RN4081 atties have any quality at all.

HTH,
Dave

I'm a fan of 901's and have not heard this before. I started vaping in Jan, so I have not tried them in the summer yet. Can you tell me why they don't perform in the summer?

Thanks!

901s are great attys and doesnt make any difference when or what time of year you vape them.. lol
many factors determine how an atty vapes like voltage applied to the atty. Manufacturer of atty and ohms of atty. 510s are great also depending on who makes them and the ohmage of atty..

boge cartos and the new dual coils are some of the best too..

I have both the 510 Riva and the 901 Riva and I prefer the 901. I'm unable to determine what brand atty came with it but it has a nice smooth draw with plenty of vapor and flavor (at least for me). My spare attys are SLB and work just fine, too.

My past units are the 901 atty with a 808-1 battery. I ordered the 510 Riva thinking it might out perform the 901/808-1 combo, but I was mistaken. I have replaced the 808-1 batteries with the 901 Riva batteries, though, and now I only have to change batteries once a day. I also bought a 510 to 901 adapter, so now I can use the 510 Riva batteries with the 901 atty.

But my first choice from now on will always be the 901 atty.

There's no one atty good for all flavors. Some flavors wake up in heat - some are destroyed by it. 510 tends to improve strong flavors and kill weak/fruit/berry ones. The 901 regular ohms - tends to really show off fruit/berry flavors well. Some flavors can span the range of ohms - RY4 is one -and can taste good - although perhaps a bit different on both the 510 and 901 (and 801 for that matter).

Nowadays - almost all atty models can be had in a wide range of resistances - so an 3.4Ω 510 can perform like an old 901 atty or a 2.0Ω 901 can perform like an old 510. What makes joye products - 510, 306, etc. a bit different is that they have a metal mesh around the base of the atty that some like for retaining ejuice - for dripping eg. and for keeping it wet near the coil. The 'washer' base doesn't do that as well, imo - some 510's now have a 'washer base' but not the Joyes - they're metal mesh.

I have a washer base SLB LR 901 and it leaks. I've tried putting an o-ring just under the little side hole and have even gone so far as to tape a piece of paper towel, just under where it connects to the batt. Left sit on it's side, hole up, the paper towel is soaked in the morning and I only put 3 drops of juice in at a time, so it's not like I have a ton of juice just sloshing around the bottom all the time! Is that normal?? Maybe I should go with the mesh bases?
