I suppose this question is mainly for Imeo. And yes, it's crazy for sure, but what the heck, I know he has plenty of imagination in his head! :D

This idea is for my GGTS. Don't get me wrong, I do love it....but I've thought of one thing that would make it the KING of PV's (I know, it already is, so the SUPER KING??) LOL

I would love to be able to have the ability to vape at 5 volts. I mostly use it at 6V right now. And I also know the only way to get to 5V is with a resistor. AND I know we don't want any wires, etc in this wonderful device. This is where my crazy idea comes in.

What if there was a round metal disk, with a non-metallic piece separating the 2 halves. The resistor is inside, positive side attached to one half of the disk, negative to the other. The edges of the disk would also have to be non-metallic so it wouldn't short. I have this pictured in my head being about 1/8" thick (sorry don't know metrics). The user could just slip in inside the GGTS.....sort of like a spacer, but this spacer would reduce the 6V to 5V.

Did I describe that good enough? Am I totally insane?

I pictured in my mind a piece of titanium with a delrin ring surrounding it and this disc would go on top of the top battery to reduce voltage put out to the atomizer. The disc would be the same diameter, or a little less, than the top section of the GGTS.

I said titanium because that is what another vendor/supplier uses in his 5 volt mod to reduce the voltage.

Sounds like it would work to me. The problem with the other vendor and his titanium is that some anecdotal evidence suggests that the voltage output to the atty is somewhat higher than 5 volts. Maybe some toying with different alloys along with the titanium could bring it down just a hair more in voltage. Imeo stated he has already been in talks with a smelting factory, maybe this is one more idea to toy with.

I agree with you, that the GG lineup is missing just one more piece in the elusive Supreme Commander of all things PV......5 volts. For this reason alone I am forced to intersperse my fabulous GG collection with the Saber Touch 5 volt. The Saber Touch matches my GG's very well in that it too is all aluminum body with brass end caps.

Problem is the batteries are a variable power source so maintaining a stable 5V with a resistor disc wouldn't be consistent.

This.

I know that when I use two 3.0v batteries, it starts out to feel closer to a true 7v mostly because a fresh battery holds a higher charge.

I like cartomizers at 5v. 6v is okay, but 5v preserves more flavor IMO. 2x 3.0v batteries will hit the sweet zone after about 2-3 hours of vaping. And taste like what my old 5v passthrough used to give me.

I remember a thread somewhere that had a way to make a moderately safe rudimentary resistance disk. I looked but can't fnd it, but I'm not convinced it will work with Imeos atty attachment, although for 808carts think it would.

I might be talking out my ... though, I haven't had my morning coffee.

To me 6v its fine, but I understand that many people are hardcore 5v lovers.

You are not insane buddy but I will tell you 2 things and you will understand why we dont need this option:

1) titanium has the same contactivity with steel, that means poor. But when we say poor we dont mean that contactivity is extremely different. I dont think that we can reduse voltage with those materials. Maybe if we use germanium then we could had much better results.

2) The 5 volt option give us 8 watt of power and the atty will blow up soon. But the i6 at 6 volts give us the same power without risking the atty. Thats why I made HV atties, to have many different options and not only 5 volts.

Conclusion: We already have the 5 volt option with i6 at 6 volts:):)

Thanks all. Right now I'm mainly using cartos and at 6V it is a little bit too much. That's why I thought 5V, but not tied to a PC or a wall, would be perfect.

I understand HV i6 atty at 6v might be good. But I'm waiting for the GGTS AFS, so right now, cartos is it for me. Hmmmm, I'll have to keep looking for my answer.

Thanks again

You could use a 5v battery? I do!

Just went to their site and there 4.8v/400mah batteries. Does anyone know of anyone else selling them with a higher mah?

they last about 6 hours and vape very nicely in the GGTS... well worth the price i think and they charge in 1.5 hours completely drained...on a plus note, you can drain these batteries and they wont lose any life to them.. kind of better in a way like a smartphones battery..

Might just have to buy some. I like cartos when I'm out and about.
