'Like the title says, this is just a proof of concept, haven't figured out how to rip out the e-cig battery connection yet. (Any info on this would be appreciated.) This is more of a novelty PV obviously, but I think it should work pretty well. The left mouse button will be the switch.

I ripped the battery connector out of a dead 510 batt with a dremmel. I did scuff the battery a couple times though which makes me want to not recommend it, but it worked.

You can also buy the connectors from madvapes.com, and other places you can find around the forums (I know I saw a thread in the modders forum offering them. That's what I'll be doing in the future.

It seems like I`ve see one of these somewhere. But that could have been in my dreams.

If it`s a manual 510 battery the rubber switch can just be popped right out

The hard way,

I used a dremel cut off disc and cut my first one open from one end to the other.

The easier safer way,
The 2nd one was cut down at the connector for the atty. A cut at a 45 and then a small screw driver to raise the tin. Then grab the tin with a set of pliers and twist them like you was opening a can of sardines with the key they give you. Then slowly pull the battery and all right out.

Thanks. So I'm almost done with this one now. I just realized I don't have any normally open push switches laying around, thought I did. :O I measured the voltage today and was getting anywhere from 5.4 to 6V, so I guess I did good. Right now I've got a 1980s era single pole, double throw switch on there, which actually looks kind of cool.

Unloaded voltages are meaningless. A 5V 100mAh USB adapter will read 5V as will a 1000mA one. Neither will fire a Joye 510. To put it another way a 5V 1000mAh power source, unloaded, will show 5V. Hook it to a Joye 510 atty and hit the button and you'll get 2.2V (loaded, vaping volts).

I guess that makes sense. Voltage is max across an open, so without a load there is technically an open and the voltage is at max.

It's been a little over a year since I messed around with such basic circuits, so I am a little rusty. I usually deal with the passing of data and amplification of frequencies to be radiated.
Whatever the hell that is.

There's a lot of stuff that has been discussed on these forums. Volts, amps, watts especially.

You can use this for some quick calculations.

hey man , thats the way it happens.

you got two normally open pushbutton switches right in front of you. with a little tweaking , you could have left click do 3.7v and right click 5v/+ ...

as for battery connectors , you gotta be careful but i always have had to peel the metal away like a sardine can. last time i was being careless and had to get 3 stitches in my palm....

its nothing compared to trying to whittle wood with a screwdriver when i was a kid , and shoving a wide flathead from one side to the other of my palm...
