Are you using the tank atomizers on those? They are a nice concept but have wicking issues. You can use any cartomizer with a 510 thread. Smoke Tech 1.7 ohms cartomizers are nice on ego-ts.

Last time I was trying to help someone from your neck of the woods, I noticed Canvape has a 510 cartomizer sampler pack. No ST 1.7ohm, but a nice sampler!

Concerning the problems, I would take them in stride. You have quit and that is the main thing. There are tons of inexpensive and far more capable devices. In time, you will either get better performance out of your existing device or simply move on to something better.

Again, congratulations for your accomplishment!

All the best!

Ashiet, welcome to ECF!

There are leak issues with the eGo-T, but there are silicone caps that replace the hard caps on your tanks that will minimize or stop that. Do a search for eGo-T tank leak from the search box on the main page and you will find many threads discussing leak fixes.

Also, the tanks are finicky about the thickness of the juice. 100% PG,which is thin, will leak more than 70pg/30vg. Some people use 50/50 and get by fine. 100% VG is generally too thick and will not feed properly through the wicking, giving you weak vapor and taste.

Hi, I also use the Ego-T and quit smoking analogs recently. I have sometimes problems with a little leak but not to bad. I put my atomizer in alcohol for a few minutes and let the alcohol run through it form both sides. Then I can see all the liquid come out, which is not that much. After that I blow through it from the screw side and then the other onto a tissue and let it dry till +/- 12 hours after. I have a second atomizer so i take turns with the atomizers. I also use a cu-tips with some alcohol on it to clean the connection between the atomizer and the battery. Fot me this has kept mine working great. The tanks on mine have the silicon caps and these I always clean in hot water and let them dry.

Good luck with your Ego-T,
Jolanda

Welcome to the forums, and you chose a decent PV to start with. Leaking happens with the Ego tanks, I try to keep my juices between 70/30 and 60/40 (pg/vg) to keep from leaking (a problem I don't have too often anymore), and to keep the wick working well. I personally don't care for the soft rubber caps that you can get for the tanks, I found that they didn't allow for good wicking, and have heard that over time they wear out and leak anyway. I usually use the hard plastic caps that came with my tanks, and once I've punched them with the cone spike I like to take an Xacto and cut the plastic that was punched through off, I found that also works for better wicking.

You should check around for a video on how to fully clean your atty via a dry burn, when I start to notice poor flavor/vapor (and blowing the cone out doesn't fix it) I pull the atty apart and do a full clean followed by a dry burn, think it's under the maintenance forums here.

Honestly though the Ego-t's are known to leak a little, not bad, and the wicking issues are probably a matter of learning curve. If you don't pull hard enough when vaping you'll dry out the wick, and if you pull too hard you're likely to flood the atty. Give it some time, and if you keep having problems feel free to post them here, we all love to talk lol.

Hope you enjoy the forums, vaping, and everything that comes with them.

I never had luck with the tanks. Glad to hear that you're doing better than I did with it. Next time you place an order, grab a box of Boge 2.0ohm cartomizers and give them a whirl. You might find the cartomizers to be a better type of hardware to use. However, since you're doing well with the tanks, stick with them. The cartos were only a suggestion.

Welcome to ECF.

Wow... thanks for the warm welcome everyone :D I'm very happy to have been able to put away the analogs after 20 years. Especially since I've never tried to quit before.

After reading a bit more on the forum, I've picked up quite a lot more information about the issues I'm experiencing.
Seems that most likely, my fluid is too viscous for the wick to pick up, I'm going to try mixing some distilled water into my juice to thin it down a bit.

However, I've noticed that it might be one of the atomizers are just not up to par and producing poor results. I'll put a multimeter to it later to see if it within spec.

Again, thanks for the input everyone!

Hi Everyone,

New member starting to quit 6 days ago with 2 work buddies and have been analog free for since. Using the Joyetech eGoT and loving it! :vapor:

Did run into some intermittent issues with flooding, leaking, and a sour burning taste. Anyone have tips on how to prevent this from happening?

Congrats to you and your co workers! ... I have an Ego T as well, but haven't had any issues with leaking or floods and I have both SR and LR atties. You said it was genuine Joye, so can't blame it on being a knockoff.

I have heard about plenty of Tank users having leaking issues, but luckily I am not one of them and don't know what exactly was causing the problem for those with this experience.

If the leaking becomes too much I say you should get yourself some Cartos, which typically produce better flavor than Tanks anyway. Try Boge or Kanger horizontal coils for 510 threading, and you for sure will not have any more problems with leaking.
