Hey all,
I purchased my first e-cig from a local tobacco shop on 10/15/2010 after watching this video:

Ironically, the article had an anti vaping bent to it, but just watching the guy from Puresmoker vape had me so intrigued that I just had to give vaping a shot.
My first model was a Gamucchi Continental disposable in mint. The flavor was revolting, but I knew the idea of vaping to replace a 1-2 PAD habit could work for me. After that I purchased a few more disposables and eventually a Smart Smoker's Choice #7 rechargable. I really had no idea what I was doing, I just knew I had to quit smoking. After 15 years of the habit, my eyes looked sallow, my teeth were gross, I had lines all over my face, I wheezed, coughed, and was in general getting old before my time.
I was looking online for a cheaper supplier of my #7 cartridges as I was spending $15 for a five pack and I had to drive an hour to purchase them to boot. Well, that search let me to ECF, which led me to a Riva510, and that's what I've used ever since.
I am now nicotine free. I worked my way down from 36 mg in November. In theory, I could quit vaping altogether, but I'm not feeling motivated to do so. The 'ritual' of smoking/ vaping is still enjoyable to me so I see no reason to set a quit date for vaping at this point.
How has my life changed since I've been cigarette free?
It's been tremendous. I feel better, I smell better, I look better, everything tastes and smells better. My SO and the kids are so excited that the house and cars don't stink anymore. There's no more arguments about smoking, no more snide comments about quitting, and no more feeling isolated because I smoked and no one else did.
I do not exaggerate when I say that my quality of life has improved very noticably.
I still wake up every day and can't believe I am a non smoker. It's a little surreal, even after all of these months. I'm almost afraid someone will pinch me and I'll wake up in my old life.
I encourage anyone who is looking to break the bonds of their smoking addiction (or maybe just looking to have a healthier alternative) to really consider vaping.
It has changed my life. It has set me free from a cage I never thought I'd be able to escape from.
My name is Newbz, and because of e-cigs, I am a non smoker.
