Hello....
I am trying to help my sister (she's not a member) with a problem. She has a chuck she uses at 6 volts. She knows how to use it because she used mine for 2 weeks before she got hers. Here's the problem. She is blowing attys at about 5 a week and on one day she fried 10 attys in 12 hours which I thought was impossible. The 10 attys were 801s and she was using them with an adapter. In other words. Her chuck is a 510 and she used an adapter for 801. But the attys she fried before that were 510s....about 5 a week....Could there be a problem with her batteries or the adapter or could it be something else? She only drips....
Thanks for any help.

Boo--absent actually having the unit to check it out with a multimeter, it is impossible to rule out all possibilities, but I would have to say that if the 510's without the adaptor were failing as badly as the 801's with the adaptor, then it is not the adaptor.

Absent a short in the Chuck itself, I am going to say that this sounds like she is holding down the button too long and burning the coils out. 6V on these atomizers is very doable unless you repeatedly hold down the manual switch to long and keep overheating the coil.

So have here try cutting down on how long she holds down the button and if that does not stop the issue, then send the device back for diagnostics and service.
