betting your doctor is old, white, and watches fox news. you can always count on someone to crap in your water glass. teach him about ecigs, and this site, or find a more open minded medical professional. you just made a huge accomplishment. don't let anyone sabotage your quitting efforts.

Yay, congratulations!:)
I'm so very happy about your success! You may still be getting nicotine, but it's at a much lower level. Plus, you can slowly ease off of it all if you'd like. So many people do that and have wonderful success-that's my plan in the long run.
I do wish you luck, and I would suggest every doctor get familiar with electronic cigarettes. They're saving lives and money. Such a wonderful industry.

Best of luck:)

A whole hearted congratulations on 6 wks! I am also new to vaping, although I haven't completely kicked the analogs- but I am down to only a few a week. I have also lost 10 lbs in 2 mos because I am substituting some low nic vaping for my snacking at night!
I started because my doctor recommended it. I had tried the nicotine patch but it was too strong for me ( I smoked less than 1/2 a pck a day of ultra lights) and irritated my skin. I did ask my dentist about it and he also didn't have much info, but he did say it was better than cigarettes. Because there is no tar it is easier to rinse off the nicotine and avoid corrosion and irritation. I also had periodontal disease for a while, if you have a prescription rinse I would just use that after vaping.

Unfortunately, my cure for the periodontal disease was to have 13 of my teeth pulled and allowing the gums to heal. Although it was a drastic step and it took many months, the relief from the constant pain was worth it. But my gum disease was caused by the severe decay, everybody is different.
My dentist said the rinsing after the vaping was important, but he didn't say what to rinse with. If you have anything that you can use daily use that. Even water, since the nicotine is not in a tar, would work to keep it from staying in your mouth.

Sorry to hear that, and you had to go through so much pain.my teeth are all good except my gums,im haveing treatment now and if that doesnt respond then its up to me if i want surgery and that doesnt sound good,i have had a few infections the last couple of months, maybe i should sit next to a bucket and rinse my mouth out as soon as i vape might be a good thing.
