Ok folks, giving vaping a try again after a relapse into cigarettes. I vaped back when cartos and constant leaks or debridging atomizers and dripping were the deal. I'm looking for a simple, easy consistent setup on a budget. I'm sure I will be a mouth to lung vaper. I picked up a couple 510 batteries and some crappy gas station juice and some ce4 cartomizers. No flavor, no throat hit. Probably crap juice.

My plan atm is a istick pico. I like finding the sweet spot of power for best flavor and ignoring it. Are the tanks that come in the pico kit decent? I don't intend to wrap my own coils, just want something I can pitch the atomizer head and replace. I like the size of this guy but I'm open to suggestions both with the mod and some type of tank system. Is variable wattage really just set it how you like it and its consistent throughout the day?

My go 2 vapes back then were from a company in cali. The flavors were Geoff blend and atomic cinnacide. Anyone know what vendor that was? Who is the go to place if strong flavor is your #1 goal?

Thanks in advance all!

Welcome Back !
I have a Pico, just to try. It is a handy little device, well worth the money. And yes, VW just lets you set the amount of wattage your coils are burning. Stays at that wattage until the battery cannot carry it anymore (or the mod has a low voltage shut off)
Can't help with your tanks. Been wrapping my own coils for years. If you ever change your mind, it's actually quite easy. And with a regulated device, not much to worry about.
Not familiar with tasty vapor, but if you really like their flavors get some more !

Welcome back tranced :)

I love my Picos, I have three of them. They are small, light, tough, and they do pretty much all I want them to do without breaking the bank. They are also easy to take apart and repair when that becomes necessary.

VW is a really good way to go and is very consistent. 99.9% of the time it's set it and forget it. If that doesn't work, you've very likely got a setup issue with your atomizer to overcome.

The Melo 3 that's sold with the Pico kits out there these days is pretty good. I only vaped one while testing it, but it impressed me. Don't know how it would have done over time but it was good for a few days. I prefer my Rose V3's or other rebuildables, but if I were looking for an easy to use atty I would consider that one.

Can't help with juice suggestions as I make my own.

Best of luck with it all

I have a pico and like the mod. I will say the Melo III tank was too sub0hm for me, but I put the EUC vaperesso C-cells in one, and I enjoy that vape (the Melo III will take some different coils) and I prefer the higher resistance coils for a MTL experience, but it's a good little setup.

Welcome back to vaping and I hope you enjoy some of the newer stuff that has been released :)

Welcome back for another shot at it. The Pico is a great little one battery mod, but if you get into higher wattage that one battery will not last all day. If you do decide to go with a Pico, get the Pico 25, essentially the same but will take larger 25 mm tanks which are becoming more prevalent these days. Start with the included tank, and if you like it great, if not lots of other choices on the market, especially for the 25 version.

If you want some local options, Ahlusion in Swartz Creek makes some of the best liquids in the business. They have equipment also. Another option is Wild Bills tobacco shops, which are now loaded with vaping gear and liquid, also now operating as Mr Vapor in some areas. They stock Mr E-Liquid, one of my favorites, as well as a bunch of others.

Both are pretty close to Grand Blanc and might help you find a good fit. Good luck!

The Pico is good. For a simple reliable tank with replaceable coils you could get a Nautilus. I use a Nautilus with a Pico. Definitely MTL. Decent coils. Good flavor. Easy to refill. It's been around for a long time and it's very popular.

You can pick one up for around $20. There are several versions now, I'm only familiar with the original Nautilus.

Coming from earlier vaping days, you are likely what is now called a mouth to lung (MTL) vaper versus the newer variety, direct lung (DL) vaping. The difference is smaller puffs with a tight, cigarette-like draw versus direct inhales with an airy draw. Although you may want to move over to inhaling directly versus puffing, it would be a good idea to start with something that isn't DL to make that transition from smoking.

I would agree that something like a Pico with a Nautilus would be a great way to get back into vaping. Nautilus and Nautilus 2 heads are interchangeable (not nautilus X) and widely available and both it and the Pico have lots of support threads here on ECF. Should you later want to try direct lung, temperature control and other options the Pico can do those too, but will work fine as a wattage vape. That's how I use it with a tight draw MTL setup.

Thank you all! I was just at Wild Bills and picked up a bottle of juice to use with my old twist ego setup until the pico arrives. They had wire and cotton and accessories for people rebuilding their own atomizers, a lot of smok devices and a lot of juice - just nothing very cinnamony. Ordered up a pico and batteries along with some coil head things for a Jan 3rd delivery. Since I'm moving to a pyrex setup does this mean I can start in on the super cinnamon juices that people said ate up the plastic in cartos? Guess I'll spend some time online shopping for juices. Swartz creek is close. I'll check out Ahlusion.
Again, thank you all - Merry Christmas!

If you want MTL, then you're probably not going to like any of the cloud chucking tanks that come in kits with any of these mods. The Pico is a fine single battery mod, but I'd recommend spending some cash on a decent MTL rebuildable atty like the Siren 2, Berserker, Ares, or a kayfun clone.

BTW, no tank uses plastic anymore and haven't in years. Everything is glass now, so I wouldn't worry about "tank cracking" juices.

I feel like I am talking to a time traveler. Ego twists, cartos, tank cracking juice. 2010 called and they want their gear back.

If you're looking for a MTL tank with drop in coils, the Aspire Nautilus is still hard to beat.
Mr-E-Liquid's "Napalm" (already recommended above) is a good cinnamon flavor.
I like it mixed 50/50 with their menthol for a "Fire&Ice" blend.
Apparently you already know where the Wild Bill's location in Flint is.
Don't know how the staff THERE is, but the folks at the one near me (Ypsilanti) and at the Westland store are knowledgeable, and friendly.
Good luck.

Wife vapes two Pico's but I switched her to Melo 3 in the bigger tank so she does not have to refill 5 times a day. I kept her two smaller ones for the bases to rebuild her coils. I vape the Pico Mega. Just a bigger size and comes with a bigger tank and I run 26650 batteries in mine but you can also run 18650 with the provided sleeve. I just ordered another Pico Mega from FastTech for $24. No tank included. My top cap for the battery is starting to strip. But it has had a lot of use. Had another new one for backup but gave it away to my son a month ago. CHEERS!
