Where I normally would have emptied my ashtray a numerous amount of times today, I'm sitting here at 12:30A looking at the ashtray and there are 7 butts in there....That's it!

I know that doesn't seem like a huge accomplishment but for me; that is quite an achievment! Normally, I would have gone though at least 1.5 pks today and a few ashtray discards by now...

I still have a long road ahead to quit the analogs completely (but I must admit, the last analog tasted like crap after vaping some cola) but this is the first time I feel like I have a fighting chance.

I'd like to thank all of you for your help, guidance and knowledge.

Most of us here TOTALLY understand exactly how much of an accomplishment that is! It's huge! Try putting a patch on and only smoking a few (yes I call that a few) analogs a day. I have worn the patch, chewed the gum, and alternated puffs between the nicotrol inhaler and an analog. The e-cigs are awesome, if it doesn't seem to do it for you at points, don't kick yourself about smoking a cig. I didn't then one day I said, those are yucky and even when my 510 hates me, doesn't want to work, floods and backfires, and runs out the front door, I grab it and make it work. Good luck!!!

I ordered my mom a vaporking set for christmas, I AM SO EXCITED MYSELF BECAUSE I AM GOING TO HIT THAT PASS THRU BEFORE SHE GETS IT, lol.

It's a huge accomplishment. Congrats.

In a month or two from now you may look back on this and say; "7 butts in one day! That's soooo many!" LOL

A little trick that worked for me. I purposely ran out of my own analogs and substituted one of the wife's when I reached for a cigarette. They were (and still are, unfortunately) God-awful Merit Ultra Lights. It was way more pleasant to vape than smoke those awful things.

Congrats CatMommy, you're on the road to being fully quit from analogs!

I had to get the cigs out of the house for a few days. Having them here, and the ashtray and lighter etc., was the way my brain knew to get nicotine, and as long as they were around I alternated. I ran out of analogs as my VK came in the mail, and figured ok I'm gonna try just vaping. I only wanted an analog until my brain figured out the VK was IT. Haven't had a craving since.

My best tip to substitute smoking with vaping is to stay on top of your cravings. My worst time was after a great or big meal, I learned to hit the VK a few times before I was done eating, then the big craving never happened. Just a tip, could be an idea to help you turn 7 into 4 tomorrow maybe?

Good luck and welcome!

You are wrong - it IS a huge accomplishment! Any cig not smoked is a huge step forward! And yes, you can do this! My mom is a nurse and used to tell me about people who would still be smoking through a hole in their throat after having cancer removed and I could easily see myself being one of those people. If I can do it - anyone can! Go at your own pace and pat yourself on the back for every small accomplishment, and don't be too hard on yourself for the minor step backs - we are winning the war! ;)

This thanksgiving I an so THANKFUL for V4L, for Steve, for Mark, for Leaford, and for all my friends here who contributed to my success and keep me smilin!

Thanks all for the encouragement and tips.

I'm in the process of formulating a plan to quit the analogs all together. I'm sure it will not happen for me overnight, but I'm OK with that. I feel good about this process and if it takes a little longer...Oh Well...LOL...

I'm vaping mostly 18mg now. I wonder if I should buy some 24 and 36 just for "first thing in the morning" and after meals. It looks like many of you vary Nic strengths throughout the day so I wonder if that would be helpful for me as well....Just a thought...

*Zorba* The kitty in my pic is my Lil Gorgeous Jeter Girl. Unfortunately, she's in heaven now. She came from the shelter and was exposed to an incurable virus while there. I managed to have her for 9 months, but she didn't even make it to her first b'day. I miss her terribly!
I believe going through all that is what increased my analog use so drastically (I was up to 2+pks a day for a while)...but I guess stress will do that to you.

Yeah!!!! Iv been vaping for two months now and still have a half a pack of analogs sitting in my drawer. I haven't touch one since day two of vaping, however it does sit in my mind daily to go light one up but like you after vaping Chocolate it taste like crap. Some days when I get frustrated with my PV device I want to just go for an analog but dont. With my PV I get both of my sins out of the way, the oral fixation and oooooh CHOCOLATE!

That's what I do. If I didn't have my 36mg with my morning coffee and after dinner, I'd be smoking analogs. I'm sure of it.

today I have passed 48 hours without a cigarette. I smoked for 30 years total. what I do is when my brain says I need a cigarette I tell my self no and hit the VK with a bigger hit than normal. I have noticed that the thought of wanting a cigarette passes after a few seconds. but I have also noticed that I am almost a chain vaper now. I don't know if it is cause it is new to me and if I will settle down into a more comfortable pattern once the novelty of vaping is over or what but the way I look at it even if I do become a chain vaper itr is still healthier than smoking :)

hang in there Christina :) you can do it :)

Christina you are doing so great! We don't all just stop the minute we pick up an ecig, some of us take a little longer to let go, but that is fine. There's absolutely no reason to be uncomfortable when making this change, because as others have said, every cig you avoid is a great accomplishment unto itself.

Good luck to all of you who are on this journey, it's day to day for all of us and we just do the best we can.

Wolf, I'm a chain vaper, too. LOL But like you said, that's ok because it IS better than cigs.
