If you don't mind size, and you have the funds, ENJOY!
If you get it, this is a good adapter from madvapes to keep using kr8 cartos while you explore the 510 hardware. It will take a moment to find what is right. 510 Battery to 801 Shorty Atomizer Adapter

Kr8 horizontal cartos are awesome. Stick with standard resistance with a provari that can do high voltage. Other VV mod owners shall be along shortly I'm sure.

That depends on why you want it. Are you going to be comfortable carrying around such a large battery? Do you want it for around the house? Variable voltage opens up a world of possibilities.

Variable voltage is good but it can also limit a person on what type of hardware they can use. Both the ProVari, BuzzPro (not as bad), and Lavatube (horrible) will limit use of dcc's. My favorite vape is 6V with a 1.6ohm dcc....I can't use any of the 3 mods that I listed. However, Krimson Kustoms builds a VV box mod that allows this.

I thought the new Provari v2 opens that up a little.

OP, if you like the way you're 808 vapes and just want more battery life and a 510 model, check out a kgo or a Riva. Both offer the ability to use most of the 510 hardware. A kgo and a boge 2.5ohm horizontal is a pretty phenomenal vape.

IMO, 510 is the way to go if you want to experiment with different setups. There is a vast array of PV's, mods and cartos/attys available for the 510 connection. If you still want to use your 808 cartos you can always get a $2 adaptor. The Provari is a great VV PV and will let you experiment with different voltages and allow you to tune the voltage for pretty much any atty/carto out there. It is limited to 2.5A (3.5A on the new ones), so you cannot run 1.5 ohm DCC's at 5 volts. I do run 2.5 ohm DCC's at 6V and 2.0 ohm DCC's at 5V. The Provari also has the ability to display the atty/carto resistance as well as the battery voltage and the voltage it is set to.
