Hi all,
I just bought a kr808 kit from vapor station. After getting started with everything.
I thought I would try out the USB passthru I put on the carto (the same one I was using on the battery)
And nothing connected it to several different sources, still didn't work.
The kit also came with a drip tip I havnt tried that on the USB device yet.
I'll try that when I get home today.
Am I doing something wrong or is it just not working?

Just to be clear I'm refering to the USB cord that has what looks like a battery on the end
Not the USB connector that plugs into the wall charger.

Though I have never seen an 808 one with a REAL inline battery (the battery-shaped part would have the weight of a battery and would actually BE a battery) - those have to charge some before they are usable. That kind can use a normal battery charger (or PC USB though I would not use a PC USB) and they charge a battery while you vape it.

The other kind does not have a real battery and just has a battery shaped handle. These usually put out 5v instead of 3.7v and draw too much power for a PC USB or a battery charger. These would have a battery SHAPED part for the handle but it should be lighter weight than a battery. This kind should use a 2-3 amp output (i.e. 2000-3000mA) USB to AC adapter, and these may need higher ohm cartos (like 3 ohms is LR relative to 5v)

True - if you ever have a problem with the center post of a carto not making electrical contact, you can take a skinny paperclip leg and very gently pry up around the post of the cartomizer - just a little bit on each side until all sides are lifted a bit. It does not have to be even - screwing the carto onto the battery or PT will even it.

Make sure your charger can handle at least 2 amps. Most of them can't and you'll mess them up. You can find AC/USB adapters that are rated that high online. The one I have has 4 USB outlets, so I can vape off it at 5V and charge stuff at the same time. Most regular USB chargers are only rated for 500ma. The other thing you can do is get a self-powered USB hub that has an output of 2A or more. Then you won't be burning up your motherboard.

I discovered my 808 pass-thru takes about 1.5 amp (1500 ma) when I tried to run it off my 1A auto USB adapter. I have since ensured that I buy only 2A rated devices (AC converter/Auto adapter). Both the chargers and passthru's work fine with them ( keep the old 1A converters/adapters dedicated to just the chargers).

I have some 5 volt automatic ones from Bloog (they have 5v and 3.7v versions) and some 5v manual ones from litecig and they all work great using some cheap Dynex 4 port hubs from best buy. I have one at the computer, one in the living room, and one on the night stand so I dont have to wear out my batteries when at home. They all occasionally have an issue where they stop working but tapping them a couple times on the desk/table makes them start working again. Dont know why.

I just did a quick comparison between the USB PT and my XL Batery. I can tell a noticeable difference between them, the XL Bat. Gives a better hit. I'll have to find something with a 2 amp output.

One of those self powered USB hubs sounds like the way to go, that way I can charge my devices off it as well.
Thanks for all the good info/help.
