I bought the 808-510 adaptor from Vapor Kings so I could use my 808D1 battery with a 510 cartomizer. I am fairly certain I bought the right adapter- one end fits perfectly over the cone threading on my battery and the other end screws into the cartomizer nice and tight. But it's not working. It's as if something is not making contact all the way. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the pin inside the adapter might be adjustable so that it makes better contact between the battery and cartomizer. Has anyone tried this adjustment? If so, what tools did you use and how did you do it? Thanks so much for reading and helping me out; I really want to be able to expand beyond 808 cartomizers.

Yeah, you're right as it turns out. My relentless monkeying around with it finally got me somewhere. It's weird; I got it to work but the adapter actually has to be a little loose. My battery is a Smokeless Image Volt sealed automatic, and I noticed that the light wouldn't even come on when I tried to draw on it. But when the adapter is more loose (it can't be too loose though) it would work. I'm still trying to figure out why. I also still can't get it to work with my X2, but if I can have it working on one battery it's better than nothing I guess.

The X2 has two types of threads. The inner is 808, and the outer is Ego. So you can use Ego threaded stuff fine with the X2. Not sure why this would cause trouble with an 808/510 adapter tho - maybe it needs a bit more fiddling.

Totally not your fault. I was trying to push it a bit and it popped out. There's a rubber stopper that goes around the pin and keeps it in place. The trouble is getting the pin in there with the stopper on each side of the adapter. At any rate, it's working without that rubber stopper but I'm going to keep messing with it to see if I can get it all back together. It's all so tiny! At any rate, I don't want you to feel guilty.
