I have had my Protege for about 2 months now and I ordered it with a 901 adapter. I really like 901 attys but I soon found that my 901 atty didnt seat down all the way on the adapter. it woobled a bit and at times even looked slanted if held up and closely looked at. I was not happy at all to see this so I thought about it for a week or so and came up with a easy fix for this problem.....a rubber O-ring. just 1 will do it and it works great. i found a few at my local "tobacco" pipe store and since I know the guys that own it ,they were free for me 
just take an O-ring that is just a bit smaller that the post on the 901 adapter and slip it onto the adapter post then work it down to the base ....done.
no more woobley atty!!
