I have vaping for about 4 months and during that period I have only used atties of the 510 family. After reading so much about the 901 I decided to give it a try. I took the plunge and invested in a 510 to 901 adapter (a whopping $2.49) and a couple of standard DSE 901 atties.

After some experimenting I found my sweet spot for these atties at 5 volts. At that voltage they still don't give a great throat hit, but their vapor production is comparable to a 510. But the main thing is the taste. For me at least, I find the taste different from a 510 atty. It is kind of a subtle differnce, but with the 901 I find the taste deeper and more complex. For instance, if I drip a different juice on the same atty the two tastes don't meld together the way they do on a 510. I can actually taste the two different juices as distinct tastes in the same vape.
I have found with the 901 a lot of juices that tasted kind of bland on the 510 take on a new life. Juices with subtler flavors like Green Tea from GRV and the tobacco flavors from Vaperite really shine on the 901. On the other hand juices with really strong flavors can be little overpowering. However, it is a nice change of pace from 510 vaping and I like being able to enjoy some of the more delicately flavored juices that are out there.

This is probably old news for the veteran vapers, but I thought that I would put it out there for vapers like me who have only experienced 510 vaping. The key for me is getting the regular 901 atties on a 5 volt device (although next on the agenda is LR 901s). If you haven't experienced 901 vaping, go ahead and drop the big bucks ($2.49) and get yourself a 901 adapter, you might find some of your juices take on a new life.

I think most people are like me and that is what they started with. People tend to stick with what they know. I wish I would have tried the 901 earlier. All it takes is the price of a adapter and a couple of atties, but I was too busy with the 510 to eGo, to big battery, to VV, progression to take the time to try it.

I always like the 901 over the 510 on a 5 volt PV. What is even better than the 901, IMO, is the 801/BE112 atty at 5 volts or VV. Flavor, good TH and no burning.

Cool, I will give them a try. I assume that for 5 volt you are talking about the standard, not LR, Be112s. Also, I see they are for sale at LibertyFlights, but if you know any sites with good deals on them that would be nice.

Yeah, just the standard BE112's on 5 volts. I usually get mine at BestEcig: e-cigarette|BE112/DSE 801 series

I like my 3.5Ω 901 HV attys at 5.8 volts. That's my dripping choice. So far I've checked out an HV 306 at this level and it was real nice but I'm having leakage issues with it. Could be my drip tips. I like the 801 atty for dripping too but the HV 901 always seems to be in stock at my favorite atty vender and I find the difference so minimal that I just stick with the 901s.
