You will likely find that anyone who switched from a 510 to a 901 had their hubby grab the best one and hide it.

A big hint. If you think your 901 is better than a 510 just try to trade a 510 owner out of one for a 901. I have nothing against 901s in the slightest, but they simply do not compare across the board with a 510 -- not even close.

About all I'm seeing (negatively) about the 510 is the battery life complaints. I don't really have a problem with the battery-life... or I'm simply used to it. Maybe I'll just work on increasing my 510 accessories for now. Still, I might keep my eye out for a good bargain on a 901 in the future.

    Great first sentence :)

The only e-cig so far that's coming close to my 510s really has been the M201. Somehow, I keep liking it more and more. Good battery life (esp compared to the 510s), good vapor (close/roughly on par with 510), and a bit less throat hit than the 510, but can dangle from mouth with the whistle-tips, which have grown on me, and the auto battery is nice now and then. Of course, it's a 801 clone, but seems like better atty - at least the wick is double width vs the 801 I have.

I find myself grabbing the USB PT when sitting down for 'serious vaping,' and the M201 a bit when I'm 'wandering around' or doing something, and occasionally want a drag..

Sorry, no experience with the 901, after doing homework and listening to those that have had both, I simply saw no need for the 901 with the 510 in my hand.

If it wasn't for the PCC I'd trade my 3 510's for 3 901's in a heartbeat. As it is though i need my 510's for when i go out and I can charge the others in the PCC while i'm vaping on one of them. When I'm at home the 901 is the only one I use

I'm just wondering if there is anyone who switched from a 510 to a 901 and why?

I have a 510 and an 801. The 510 is the only one I really use. I have tried several times to adjust to the 801, but it has a strong plastic taste (even using the same juice as my 510), plus I tend to get a mouthful of liquid on a regular basis. I'm wondering if the plastic taste is from the whistle-tip.

I have no experience with the 901. I see that it appears to get very good reviews here, so am I missing something by not using that? Is there any significant difference between the 510 and the 901?

I'm not looking to ditch my 510. I've noticed that several members have a variety of PVs, and before I add to my 510 arsenal, I'm wondering if I should invest in a 901 instead.
I went the other way - 901 first, then the 510. For me the 510 is the overall winner. I considered selling my 901 stock, but for now I'm holding on to it, and still using the 901 at times.

There are differences. I find it's annoyingly easy to flood the 901 atty, but have never flooded the 510. 901 brings out the various flavors nicely, but the throat hit is better with the 510, and juice is still tasty. My 901s are auto, making for a very simple and cigarette-like process, which is nice at times, but overall I prefer the control of the 510's manual switch. Battery life is better with the 901, but I think the 510's kick comes in part from the battery's higher output.

If I had to pick one or the other, my choice - without having to think about it for even a second - would be to keep the 510.

I fill from the bottom with a syringe or pipette and have never had that happen.

    Manual 901s are available here.

Filling with a syringe definitely makes the difference, and that's how I usually fill my 901, but it isn't always convenient. In any event, I was simply pointing out differences I've experienced. As far as manual batts go, I'm glad they're now becoming readily available for 901 users, but I won't be spending any more on 901 supplies. I have a ton of 901 stock to use up, and then I'm done with it.

No but pipettes are. Pretty much the same as dripping but fill from the bottom.

I have both. Started with the 901, then tried the 510. I personally feel that the 510 does perform better, but it may really be due to the manual battery. Will know for sure once my 3.7 volt batts get here for my mod. I am using a 6 volt mod, but feel it is too hot to enjoy. It works OK with my strawberry, but all of my other flavors get burnt.

I tend to use my 510 more, but I am also kindof saving my 901's for my mod. Maybe I should be doing it the other way...

I solved the leaking issue on my 510 by switching to a 901 cart. It fits tightly, and works just the same to me.

this thread makes me feel as if I'm missing out by not having a 510... I love my 901 so does that mean I will REALLY love a 510? I want a manual switch, I can't decide on getting a 901 switch or getting a whole new 510 kit..... ahh...

If you do decide to try the 510 (which I would recommend), you may want to look at getting it from ruyandirect.com (Heavenly Gifts). They have the kits for $30, shipping is reasonable, and even though they are coming from China, they get to my door within 6 days.

Sorry, not trying to sell you on them (510 or ruyandirect), but that is where I got mine from, after purchasing a kit for double the price from a forum member. That was my own fault for not doing my homework.

I think what I like the most about the 510 is that when you pull, you actually can feel the vapor getting warmer in your mouth, before you inhale. Tends to remind me of a traditional cig in that aspect, and you also know you will be getting a good hit.
