Just a few days ago I received my 3rd 901 atomizer (just wanted another back-up) from Steve at Puresmoker.com. My first 2 atomizers were both exactly the same from a vapor standpoint; they were hit and miss but did the job.

However, this new one I got blew the other two away! Even 30 seconds after the exhale there was still vapor in the air, the vapor level was that of the smoke from an analog cigar :thumb:

Lesson of the day: atomizers are cheap so buy some extras so you too can find vap heaven!

there is a pretty standard pattern at work here.. first people are led to believe both batteries and atomizers last longer than they really do..

they buy a device.. use it for a while.. it gets tired.. they dont realize cos its a slow and gradual process..

they try another device.. not a tired other device but new other device.. new device gets compared with tired (but unrealized) old device.. the result new device is better.. gee wow whiz..

round and round it goes.. new being compared against old..

we chuck our 901 atomizers between one and two weeks.. for optimum performance we have to.. we dont do it for fun..

atomizers wear out so do batteries.. and comparing new against old as is mostly the case dosnt produce good results as to what device works the best..

I have to agree 100 percent there. I have just compared a brand new 401 with a brand new 901 and tbh the 901 is better as far as throat hit goes but it seems to me too many people comparing new ecigs with other ecigs with older atomisers. I have compared new white, black and pink atomisers at the same time, they aren't all the same as far as vapor production goes and then theres the break in period. Out of the ones I have tested the weaker ones have deteriorated quicker than the stronger performing ones but then I have not tried every atomiser in the world, nothing is certain when it comes to these things.

I think when I have enough money saved up I may have to give your screwdriver a shot!!

I had the other two for only a week, and I even asked on the forum why my vap was thin and inconsistent. Either my first 2 were not up to par, or the new on I got was above average.

they vary from one to the other.. which is the other reason for so many differing reports when comparing devices.. on acceptability scale the good ones at the start remain usable longer..

but the drop off often isnt noticed until a new one is tried then it becomes obvious.. in one way its the only accurate way of knowing how tired they have become.. compare them with couple of new ones..

a lot depends on expectations or user needs.. but they do wear out and get tired.. with heavy use quite quickly.. knowing exactly when to chuck them isnt easy... its just habit to try and make them last a bit longer.. he he..
