Only suggestion i have at the moment is to consider a slightly longer tube so the button is recessed; that is, the button is not visible from side view but the overall length is unchanged. Improves the looks and avoids pressing by accident, such as when put in pocket.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I was going to ask about this (and the SD and other similar mods) with the button protruding as it is, how easy it would be to accidentally set it off. I wouldnt want it just sitting in my pocket and going off.

A completely recessed switch, so the button is flush with the casing would be amazing.

All in all though, that is one FANTASTIC design you've got there. From what I can see of it, it looks incredible, you obviously put a lot of time and effort into that.

If you think it would be possible to extend that casing just a little bit more so that button is not protruding, I would love to be able to get on your list of interested buyers. I've been looking for a modded alternative to all these things I've got lying around, and so far this looks to be the best I've seen!

Sun Vaporer: no solder means only mechanical methods of completing the circuit... no wires, no epoxy just good ole fashioned smart design.... it was conceived by me as a frustrated e smoker...

I'm really curious as to how this circuit works. Could it be replicated by someone with minimal experience, access to a drill press and Radioshack?

Alternatively, if you were willing to share drawings- perhaps I could take them to a local machine shop (assuming they'd provide a reasonable price)?

Thanks for providing the information you have so far!

cpu - no offense, but i don't think you could re-create this with a drill press... ...i also don't think it would be cost effective to have a local machine shop build this for you... if you don't currently have or have access to a cnc lathe, band saw, design software (i.e. Catia, NX, I-deas(farewell), Solidworks, MasterCAM or even AutoCAD), a Mill, etc, not to mention the raw materials required.... then you would be better off building a SD copy or a Magnum.................perhaps when i get more time, i will put together something that anyone can build from off the shelf components... maybe my take on Madog's Magnum.... I will gladly share all the technical info for something like that.... pls don't take offense - i'm replying to more than just you on this one.... ok RANT off now...

drawings??? - i have had numerous requests for copies of my design... I have no problem helping people out -to build something for them self... however i do have a problem with someone trying to reproduce for profit something that i have designed... hence the dilemma with posting technical drawings, CAD files, cutter paths, etc....

i am still waiting for a few materials/components to come in to finish up the few that i promised to some of you... i will have enough stock to make a couple more (less than 5) for others if anyone else is interested...

Hi Chippez, it uses the same battery as a SD so the voltage will be similar... Size is also very similar to the SD... I like the overall size of mine better, buy I think I'm Biased, he he.

I have received a few requests from others wanting 2 sleeve pieces; a longer tube to use 2 CR2's (6v max) and a shorter one for 1 CR123... (4.2v Max)... This could be done quite easy enough... Right now I really haven't had time, but maybe in the future....

No Problem Chippez, here is a pic for size comparison... pls keep in mind the pic is of a "prototype" unit I made. The one's I'm making now will have the button almost not visible from the side. I'm working on those now as I was waiting for material...

Sry everyone for the bad quality, cam phone.... I promise to get better quality images on here soon...

All - thx for all the comments... you guys have been great!

I think it says something for the frustration we have all had with the current offerings... thank you all for the comments and the interest... I wasn't really posting to start some kind of a business, these take WAY to much time to build at the time being... for those lucky 15 I promise to support you guys in anyway I can... pls be patient it will be another week or so until all are finished...

Me again, pls everyone let us not turn this thread into a conversation about sales or $$$... If you have any questions of that nature, pls PM me and I will be happy to get back asap.

Let us try to keep our comments true to the "modder's forum"

once again I appreciate everyone's comments and feedback....

That's seriously looking incredible WhateveR, I cant wait to see it all finished! I love that its completely home made, it just gives it something extra, you know? Cant wait to see it with the mostly flush battery, I think that will really set it apart from a lot of other pieces out there, not to mention making it ultra pocket friendly :D

Keep the pics coming, cant get enough!
