901 is it becoming extinct?

I hope it sticks around, I'd like to try a 901 atty.

Thats why I bought a 901 kit. I kept hearing about the better flavor. I have only had it a couple of days and it does have a different flavor thats for sure.

Didn't know about this auto shut off thing. Thought the bat died on me.
Too used to 510s I guess.

I'd recommend an XL KR808 batt for sure. They're 380mah and put out a true 3.7 volts or ~4.0 volts on a full charge.

I do have a manual. I guess I am used to taking a longer inhale with the 510, because 901 starts blinking if I inhale too long.

Even though I minimized it in a recent comparative review, I have come to really enjoy the 901 atty (second only to my beloved pensyle). I've never used the 901 battery, just the atty: on the excellent 3.7V, 280 mAh Kr8 battery ... on mods with 901 fittings ... and, starting yesterday, on the new 750 mAh CigEasy Elegant (kind of an eGO for Kr8 cartos). No adapter required and it fits right in the cone. Quite wonderful! I even prefer the 901 atty on it to the cartomizer, strangely enough.

I'm old school. I still tend to prefer the 4075 (901 clone) for taste and durability Today, the 901/4075 is not my main unit, but atomizers with a mod are working very well, and the standard unit is actually great to carry on a bicycle ride, for instance, due to it's pneumatic switch.

Normal 3.7v batter is going to deliver about 4v charged?
Normal 510 atty at 2.2 ohms
4v @ 2.2 ohms ==> 1.82 Amps and 7.27 Watts

So you're getting about the same effect as a regular 3.7v mod with a 510 atty. Why bother with all the 6v and HV attys. More batteries, more expensive attys.

Yeah, whatever. I've had other people in here try to tell me that too and all I can say is try it. The math makes it all look the same on paper but the vape tells the real story.
I'm not measuring the wattage I'm just tasting and feeling the vapor and the difference is undeniable.

well, yes. I'm not saying that isn't the sweet spot for some people. It's just that there isn't any magic about x watts from one combination and x watts from another combination. Although the placebo effect is strong. It is true that 510s and 901s have different draws and there is a slightly different air flow through the atomizers.

Well, it seems to work for me.
I've kind of gone backwards from DonDaboom. I started with the 901, went to 901HV, then discovered cartos. I'm using both 510 and kr8 cartos about half the time and 901 HVs the other half. I'm not loyal to any model but I know that the differences that I experience between them is not imagined. It's too consistent.

CigEasy just did. It's called the Elegant. As a Kr8 supplier, CigEasy is marketing it as an eGO-like battery for Kr8 cartomizers. However, it is just as effective for 901 (or 4075) atomizers, as my review points out.

FYI: I am not a shill for CigEasy. That supplier is only one of the scores I have recommended here on ECF. I did receive the Elegant for free for the purpose of writing that review. But, having written it (honestly), it is now bought and paid for. I am simply enthusiastic about what it can do.

I don't know. I think Frank (CigEasy's proprietor) is playing it pretty close to the vest. He knows others will come out with their own version (as has been happening in the eGO family) and doesn't want to make it too easy* for them.

* Actually, I did not see that pun coming. But now that it has arrived, I'll draw attention to it.

I got a lr901 atty from Ikan and found my happy place I was missing flavor on the 510
and I really needed that. So yes I love the 901. I know nothing of voltage etc, but I put it on a kr808 bat or my Ego and it is great for me. LOL

I can't wait to try a 901 atty. Someone is sending me a 901 atty on trade. I'm hoping I could use it on my ego with cone, if not on a 510 batt.

Bert you will need the adaptor to use it on the Ego, but it does work well with it.

Zelda, I’ve never tested a 901 atty at 6 volts but my pass through is 5+ volts & SLB mega batts are 4.2 & this SLB 901 atty won’t die! It came out of a 905 MOD kit with a 14500 900mah batt I was testing. I used it on the 14500 for about 45 days constantly then switched to a 901C mega batt 280mah 4.2 volt, not as big & heavy as the 905…That was over a month ago. I dry burn it to drop the mega batt voltage down enough to except a charge & Highping it every 2-3 days, the flavor & vapor production are great.

If you think you have a dead 901 atty Highping it!! I bet there’s still life in that ol girl!!!
