901 vs 901b?

Which has produced the most/most consistent vapour for you?

  • Original white 901 matt atomiser

  • Original shiny 901 atomiser

  • 901b black

  • 901b pink/other

  • No difference at all

I initally bought 2 black 901s and have rarely used them because they have vapor but no throat hit what so ever. I kept hearing that everyone loved their 901 for the throat hit and could not understand it becuase I didn't have any. So I just bought a white 901 and wow there is definetly a difference! Now I did buy them from different people; I wonder if that matters?

There are several manufacturers, and they don't all use 901 and 901b the same way. For some, the only difference is the packaging. Some have 901c's and 901e's. And of course, some manufacturers use different model numbers entirely for the same device. At least one supplier on this forum is selling a 901 that actually comes with a different model number, and just uses the 901 name for convenience.

I think originally it was the 901 and the 901b as in model A and model B. Since the introduction of the pink model, the 901b has been referred to as the b meaning black, but I think the black and pink models both fall under "b".

I think also that the original 901 was the matte white, while the gloss white would also fall under "b". This is why users tend to see similar vapor between the gloss white, black, and pink while users with the matte white seem to have more vapor, but it seems less reliability.

So... All gloss 901's should be classed "b" and all matte 901's should be classed "a". This can be further subdivided by color, as in 901bb, 901bp, 901bw, etc. I guess blue would be 901bbl?

Oh, I'm hoping on Monday I will be ready to do my 901 review involving serious testing of multiple black/white/pink atomisers. I'm awaiting a couple more matt white ones and am very keen to see if they perform as well as my current matt white one. So much of it does boil down to you vaping technique though....thanks for that Rat in the Hat!! Your videos seriously helped me.

Well I cannot test the black atomisers, only had them 2 days and my oh went off to Ireland with them .

So at this point cannot answer the poll.

I did notice that the black battery was slimmer than the white one.
Not an optical illusion.
When you screw the black battery in to the white atomiser run your finger down and there is definately a more defined ridge where they join.

Dont know if they used a slightly slimmer tube to hold the battery ?.

People have also been commenting thy are finding the brown carts are really tight in the black atomiser and difficult to remove.

The Black Carts are also quite loose in the white atomiser.

It may just be the batch purchased or has anyone else noticed this ?.

I have a bunch of black mouthpieces and none of them fit the same. I think it's just Chinese manufacturing at work... What I was doing before I stopped using carts was find a mouthpiece or 2 that you like and swap carts between them. Now I just use 1 mouthpiece that's quite snug... but not too snug.

I think my black definitely vapes more than the pink. Smokes quietter too. Better draw. Still use the pink a third of the time though. Don't know why it's so different since I thought they were all the same save the color.
I'm definity getting white next. White is not a good color me (scuse me 'non-color'), but I'd like to see if the throat hit and vape are better.

Guys, I've concluded that it is generally a game of hit and miss, or it is for me anyway. I've got a small collection here: 3 matt white atomisers, 1 pink and 2 black. While one of my white ones gives me the very best throat hit of all, perfect resistance and a copious amount of vapour, the other two are not on par with it. One of my black ones is nearly as good as the excellent white one but the other black is rather poor in comparison. The poor black makes a fair amount of vapour but there is just no resistance at all which doesn't give me a satisfying draw and the throat hit is poor. The pink is really rather good but not quite on par with the excellent white again. I have ordered more pink and blacks to keep up the testing. (I have too much time on my hands)

It seems that they all do improve with use AND, what I've found to be the most important issue of all, with correct use to optimise the vapour. Prior to watching Rat in the Hat's tutorial vids I was vaping like a noob and not getting the best out of my e cigs.
