Mooch, do what YOU NEED to do. You already do a TON for us. If you really enjoy and can find a way to make a good living at it then go for it. Please don't go broke or stressing yourself out trying to do it though. You will turn a passion into something you hate, I have seen it happen. From the sounds of it your day job is pretty important too.

Mooch thanks for the work you do. I hope (if you have decided this is what you'd like to do full time) that you are able to find a way to do it, and I am rooting for you (as long as there's no country music involved.... I really think the only appropriate genre for batteries is classical, I mean we all know music and math go together, let's keep it tasteful... I kid, you could probably do a battery rap that was at LEAST as good as "conjunction junction.")

I have some ideas, including the dreaded “P” word ...

I haven't kept up so I'm unsure what was implied here.

My first though was Patreon, which seems to be gaining popularity, though I think that's mainly videos where one tapes a promo/testimonial at the end of their performance or review.

An entirely different direction might be sponsorship from Patrón (tequila).
An idea I wouldn't be averse to. :D

(only the hangover is "dreaded" o_O )

Gosh, I hope that's not a real thing

I remember in the late 80s and early 90s when Disco took over the market from Pop and Rock. Lots of musicians went over to Country and remodeled Country into New Country!

    It could happen.
