A bit puzzled on lack of action/vapor with a 1.2 ohm wrap??

Hey ALL!

I built a 1.2 ohm coil last night using some .5mm x .1mm Kanthal ribbon wire with a 3/2 wrap on 3/32" 7 x19 ss cable with a bit of 400 ss mesh along the top. Took my ohm reading off both my Provari AND my Multimeter. 1.2 ohms.

The build was done on an Smoktech RSST and Natural mod with an MNKE IMR-18650 fully charged to 4.2V.

All of my connections have been checked and double checked...but I'm a bit puzzled here...need a little help. :p

I'm not getting nearly the action/vapor I should be getting @ 14.7W @ 3.5A!

When I put it on my Provari at 4V it roars like a lion, and vapor production is amazing! But on the Natural...not even close to what it should be.

Am I looking at THAT KIND of voltage drop here?! A small gap somewhere in the pos. and neg. screw connectors? IDK?!...

Everything LOOKS and READS fine.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

i would check to make sure the pin in the 510 connection on the natural is adjusted properly.

screw it out, screw on the rsst, then screw the 510 in until it gets a good solid contact.

then make sure the button lock is fully uscrewed on the natural, if it is partially screwed in it may be barely making contact when you press the button.

other then that you got me. i run a 1 ohm dripper on a natural with wonderful results.

Yeah Thrasher, IDK what the heck it was but I RECHECKED AGAIN, re-tightened everything and BAM! Right where it should be! ;)
My pos. post was just a little bit too high up in the atty to make good contact with the pin.
I'm very meticulous so IDK how I missed such a newb thing but....good now. :)

Check it out...Wicks so well with the cable it's covering the coils!

Thanks to all you guys for your input!

I use a K100, not a Natural. All I can say is that if you had this kind of voltage drop you would be generating a lot of heat where the voltage drop was happening. It will probably become evident pretty quickly too, but not instantly. Best of luck with it!

Yeah, thanks, IDK how I missed this when double checking, but good now!

Thanks!

no mech mod gives full unloaded battery voltage at the coil when firing

I do realize that dr g, but it was just so strange because I had checked everything twice, and am actually pretty good at building these things now! LOL

Problem solved!

Is there some kind of chart on voltage drop specific to the batteries we all use...AW, MNKE, etc...and the res. levels we vape at?

Like a one stop page that someone created?

Thanks again for the input,
