I have only purchased from three websites. They are as follow: mtbakervapor, madvapes, and a promotional offer from this site for a free saphire cig starter kit (i only had to pay 5 in shipping). I have never spent more than 40 dollars online for ecigs or juice. So naturally when my bank alerted me that i had a 99 dollar purchase dated for TOMMORROW, i grew a bit concerned. How I effectively traveled one day into the future to make an online purchase for an ammount I have never paid is beyond me. But it clearly tells me that e cig vendors are no better than analog vendors. As such I will simply block all three vendors from my bank account in the morning, and quit nicotine all together.

This is not to blame of course any of you loverly forumers, who have provided me wonderfull information as well as kind advice, but instead to clearly warn you guys of the obvious mistreatment of customers. Best regards in your future endevours.

There is no need to blame either Mad Vapes or Mt. Baker Vapor - both are good vendors. I have ordered from both more than once with my credit card and no problems.

Research is your friend - here's a Spinfuel warning about the Saphire Electronic Cigarettes scam. SCAM ALERT! Saphire Electronic Cigarettes - Spinfuel Magazine | Spinfuel Magazine

From Spinfuel:
In Plain English: The moment you place your order for this ONE BATTERY, ONE ATOMIZER, ONE PACK OF CARTRIDGES, you have a total of 14 days to receive the product, call the company to cancel (if you wish to cancel), get an RMA number and return to Saphire.
Should you decide to cancel and fail to cancel by the end of the trial period, (realistically about 2 days or less in your hands) you will be charged $99.67 AND the following month’s shipment in the amount of $64.72.
IF you think the Saphire eCigarette is the greatest thing you’ve ever tried you will be charged $99.67 for the TRIAL KIT. Each month you will be charged $64.72 for 10 prefilled cartridges.

I'm sorry you have been ripped off. Please don't lump the good vendors in with the scam artists.

Sounds like Sapphire would be to blame if you ask me. Few things are truly free. They've essentially signed you up to a monthly service AFAIK.

No experience with MadVapes, but Mt Baker Vapor is a fine vendor. I've never had any issues.

I gotta agree with you on this. Gotta suspect the sapphire Is the culprit. Some type of subscription
or a pre-authorization amount on your credit card if you decide to keep the item...a trial of some sort. I'm pretty sure somewhere in its disclosure in the fine print you more than likely find some sort of fee besides the shipping cost.

I'd definitely raise an eyebrow in the direction of the "free" offer, then roll my eyes into the next state. Don't worry, plenty of vendors are ethical. What Thompson said - few things are truly free. Cancel the subscription, and if necessary, change the card number.
If you can quit nicotine altogether, good on you. Keep your options open, though. Better to have your stuff maintained and working than not have a backup plan and go back to the smokes.

There you go! A "if you decide to keep"
Gotta read the fine print. It's ashamed they have to resort to such desperate measures and prey on the innocent.

I do apoligize for throwing madvapes and mtbaker in there (more of a moment of blind anger at the audacity on sapphire's behalf.) MtBaker has always supplied me with good stuff, as well as given me samples and treated me as a value customer, as has MadVapes. I'll notify the Admins right away of the situation. Momentary outburst lol. I am upset with the situation of course. I have always admired ecigs for their many benefits healthwise, but above all for their amazing ability to give their consumer's what they want at an amazing price.

It's shocking to me that anyone would even try to scam with this side of revenue. People actually have the luxury to SPLURGE with ecigs and liquid (Seriously, I pay 20 a month for my habbit. When I see some extra driptips, or a new carto or atty I can most definately afford to buy and try hehe.) All in all ecigs have saved my wallet, my health, and my life. But running into a shady company that is taking food from my children's mouths, I can't help but become more aware. Maybe I should start a scam spotter's thread? Hmmm lol.

Anyways sorry for the outburst friendlies, was uncalled for.

Unfortunately these sort of scams are out there, and I'm sorry you got taken. I'd suggest, if you haven't already, to contact your credit card provider and get the payments stopped. It's a shame the sharks try to infest the pool.

Oh this ordeal has most definitely became a lesson learned, I'll simply stick with the vendors I know from now on. Plenty of flavors and styles to try from my trusted vendors. I'm gonna take the effort to let anyone who possibly reads this who is new to learn from my mistake with the following statement:

NO FLAME, AND SAPPHIRE ECIGS ARE BOTH SCAMS, AND MORE THAN LIKELY RAN BY THE SAME COMPANY! AVOID!
LOL

i can also confirm that madvapes is safe i have ordered from them many many times and no problems what so ever.
you might want to stick to using qualified vendors listed on this site to be safe.

a side note tho this apply's to everything on the web not just e-cigs but never, never, never go for a deal that is to good to be true like "FREE" unless you are 100% sure the site and people related to it are proved reputable in the past by you(don't fall for fake reviews)

It really is unfortunate to know, but in hindsight I should have expected such risks to be there. Always someone in everything trying to rip people off instead of making an honest living. I've ran into things such as this with many other mediums, including cell phones. I live by the philosophy " A man's means of distraction and hobby should never surpass the means for his family's", may seem strange to some but it has given me the ability to have what I want as well as provide as much as possible to my family. PV's have assisted me in this means' however it is still a business like any other, and all business's have their bad eggs.If it weren't for the amazing help of forumers such as yourselves, who are like minded with me on at least one level. I would have casted out this adventure entirely and given it a bad rep that is sorely undeserved.

Set up an online account. If you use your debit card its very simple st up a second account. keep only 50 dollars in it. then transfer the amount of purchase in the the account. Then you are not opening up your main account to fraud. I have a CC also with a 300$ limit for on line stuff. Same theory.
Im sorry you got scammed

Better that you involve others to "get the word out" even if there's a risk that you're pulling other reputable companies down with a bad one. The good companies will stand on their merit with the assistance of their loyal customers. :) I always make sure the company I'm dealing with is an ECF reseller. No illegitimate company would last very long here.

Mt Baker always treats me right... Anytime I see anything offered anywhere for "free" I immediately dismiss it as a scam. Read this forum and it will give you a great source of info about certain vendors. I found and read multiple threads about each vendor I buy from BEFORE ever giving them any money.... There's no reason to ever get scammed with a resource like ECF available. For "free" no less...

2 Bits on this:

1. As mentioned above, use a completely different account for online purchases. I have one that I use that I only put the amount I'm willing to spend in. Because I'm extra paranoid, mine isn't even at the same bank as my "real" account.

2. I go through the positive and negative vendor reviews before buying from a new source. If needed, then I go through the individual vendor forums (if they have one) and look for warning signs for the vendors I've selected to purchase from.
