I picked up a carto tank at a local B&M on a whim. I've wanted to try one and the price wasn't bad. I believe it is a 6ml stainless(chromed?) UDCT. It came with a dual coil 2 hole carto that read 2.1 ohm on my MVP2. I also bought a couple replacement cartos which I'm pretty sure are single coil, 1 hole types- I just put one in last night and it's 1.4 ohm. Both have the flange with the straight cut sides to lock into the tank.

On to my questions:
1. I changed cartos because I changed juice flavors, wasn't sure the hazelnut I had in there would mix well with the strawberry replaced it with... I put the used carto in a plastic bag and sucked the air out with a a straw. Will I be able to re-use that carto later?

2. The flavor is very muted compared to my other tanks (evod and iclear 30), is this "normal"? It also seems to add a subtle, rather unpleasant plastic taste. I'm assuming that could be the polyfill?

3. Will regular flanged cartos work in this tank? I know they would sit on top of the little locking section, but I think it would still seal at the top of the tank. The cut flange replacements are pretty expensive and I'm wondering if maybe another brand uses a different filler that doesn't mess with flavors as much.

I really like the look of the tank, the capacity compared to its size (almost exactly the same size as the iclear30 but holds twice as much? Magic!) and its apparent resistance to leaking. My biggest concern is the flavor.

Also, could someone please verify the tank is what I think it is? Sorry crappy phone pic.

I use non-flanged Boge 2.0 ohm two hole single coil carts all the time. Very few issues. I use pawn shaped drip tips to make sure they don't slip. Best I can tell that is a UDCT.
Yep... Boges as described as well. Laser slotted Boge for thick juice.

Also Ikenvape Platinum punched - 2.0Ω - 2X3mm. Better than Boge in that they last longer, have better flavor (usually) and work well with all blends of juice due to the, unique to Ikenvape, wicking, coil and large holes. As they are about .75 cents more per carto unless you buy in substantial quantity... some find them worth it, some don't.

Not a fan of dual coil... try the above single coil cartos. You'll find them much more flavorful.

+ 1 on Ikenvape cartos (if you can land some) and single coils over dual coils.

Cartotanks are generally thought to have better flavor production than a clearotank.

There are differences in taste and filler material used between the three major brands of cartomizers. I suggest trying all three and see which work best with your juices and setup.

Make certain that you are priming the cartomizer properly. This is the most important step in a cartotank setup, and determines how well that carto will perform for the rest of it's life. Once a carto tastes burnt, it is ruined and will need to be replaced. The time to replace an old cartomizer is when the taste becomes to taste off or the pull becomes too stiff to enjoy.

Before I got up enough tanks to have one for each flavor I really like I would cut the top off the little plastic cover and slide it down over the hole and then put the little white cap in and another plastic cover over that. I would then put it on the bottle of juice that I used it with a rubber band. Never really dried out. Now I have about 4 of them and just the same juice in them til Im done with the bottle.

I do not like dual coil either. I use boge f16/17 cartos 1.7 ohm with great success. I buy them for $3 each or a box of 5 for $12. I do not not like the 2.5 and 3.0 ohm boge coils. Thickness of the juice I am using dictates the carto I use. I prefer slotted coils for thicker juice. I don't know I think hazelnut and straberry would mix pretty good. Might be worth a try.

It sounds like you did not prime the carto correctly are the tank came with a crappy carto. You should saturate the polly-fill completely if you get a burnt taste stop and and reprime

I got both the UDCT and the DCT Pyrex. The Smok 3ohm single coil 2 hole leaked badly with 70VG/30PG. I haven't had any problems with a single hole SMOK yet as far as leaking with that PG/VG ratio. Im going to be trying the IKVs too as soon as some are available. Im just hoping the hole is not too large for 70PG/30VG. It should be ok with the denser fill material.

They work fine with anything from 80/20 to 20/80. I don't vape pure PG or VG... so no personal experience there, but as I understand it second hand... fine with straight VG or VG//distilled water.

BTW on my MVP v2 i can not get it to fire with a UDCT and the beauty ring. The locking ring hits it. This should not be a problem with unflanged cartos if the holes are still high enough. Ive been looking at mine and it look like using a unflanged from the drip tip side might work better if your drip tip will fit in the locking ring hole. The threads on the carto should then set flush with the "now" bottom of the tank.

Ive got a bunch of unpunched cartos but i need to get a punch and see if it works. All the local shops are out of the cartos i want but they have the punch. Even online im having a hard time finding them. Most places are out of stock.
