I am wanting to build a fully mechanical with no wires involved, only a mechanical switch. I don't really know how to search for the answer to my questions so I thought I would just post a thread and hope you guys can help. My main issue is actually understanding the path of continuity, I guess. I want to make the connector instead of buying it so does only he center firing pin make contact with the battery and carto, and is insulated from touching the 510 threaded connector? Another question, does the ground carry through the body of the device, like the switch being in contact with the body then when fired it completes the circuit? I can't get my head around it for some reason. Sorry if this had been posted before, but I did try to find it, I promise! :)

Yes... The center pin (pos pin) needs to be isolated from the rest of the device, which is ground.
The pos end of the battery should only make contact with the center pin and nothing else.

To clarify... The entire device (except for the center pin) is ground. If the center pin makes direct electrical contact with any other part of the device it will cause a dead short.

My advise... Don't attempt making your own mod until you have your head wrapped fully around this concept... Dead shorting a battery can be extremely dangerous.
