Hello All,
What a gold mine of information I have found here, more like information overload lol. Well like many I guess, I stumbled onto this sight, after an initial purchase with the internet marketing sensation known as V2. Actually ran into the link here on the V2 website, guess there mods were sleeping that day HAHA.
I have been a smoker off and on for over 20 years, I have tried the gum, the lozenges, nothing really took, but I am at the point that I know I want to quit. So here I go, now I have always considered myself somewhat of a smart shopper, do my research, compare products, and so on. So when I started my research, and googled e-cig, I visited many review sites, mostly I came across reviews and sites promoting Blu, V2, SafeCig, etc.........., made my decision and pulled the trigger. Dummy, dummy, dummy, no value on any of those sites, just marketing campaigns disguised beautifully.
So here I sit, reading, visiting real e-stores, been pounding the net and this forum absorbing everything like a sponge. The one thing that has been made apparently clear to myself is that "I know nothing" lol so returning everything to V2(thankfully I am still in that 30 day grace period, save myself the $200 minus the shipping and start all over.
Anyhow, just wanted to say HI to all, looking forward to the vaping lifestyle, learning a ton, and hopefully one day, returning the favor and be able to impart the knowledge on.

Should have named this thread the REAL 99% lol, Been actually reading a lot of the locked stickies in this forum, whoaaaa. Still kicking myself in the ...., for not googling electronic cigarette forum, for this is something I just did when considering to buy my first piano. Lesson learned, right now I am considering getting a basic Joye Ego system too start(though I found the KGO to be an interesting option as well), reason being is the expandability of the system, start with an Ego, switch maybe to a drip or tank, maybe even give the ego-c a roll, or whatever the flavor of the month is. I will not be going top end to start, though I want to start with quality components that I can expand and use as multi function device. Aesthetics are important to me, want something that is aesthetically pleasing yet functional at the same time. Haven't pulled the trigger yet as I still feel more research, though I would be lying if I said I hadn't already put my wish list in a shopping cart, figured out shipping and such. I am ready and ready to get off these analogs(HAHA even starting to pick up the lingo). So if you have any nuggets of wisdom you would like to share, or some smoking good deal that you came across, hit me up, drop me a line, respond to this thread. And thanks in advance for taking the time to read this, and imparting me with your knowledge.

Scott, I'm right where you're at. I'm about to ask advice on the eGo systems I've found. I just had a post yesterday, and was given a ton of advice on the system I needed. If you click on my name and check my posts, it's the only thread I've made so far. Hope it helps!!! Welcome! ( even though I've only been here 2 days myself, lol)

Tbh, Buy a provari and never look back!

id have saved myself like 200$, it really isnt as big as it seems. and the thing is Beautiful.

Other than that, Egos are nice, just diddnt have the charge power or the kick im looking for. I hear E-Powers are a great step up from egos, so why not start there.

And if you want something fantastic and still kinda small, the reo mini is somewhat critically acclaimed.

I think what im trying to say here, is pick something that gets good reviews on ECF and never look back!

Edit: Read over my post and realized i was reading it in Pinkie Pies voice from My Little Pony. I have issues, Serious deep rooted issues.

I almost went for the v2 as well, but I was lucky enough to have found this forum and also to have a vape shop in my city :) I picked up an eGo kit at my local vape shop after 2 days of research and have not had an analog since I finished the pack that was in my pocket when I picked up the eGo.

I now have a few Bloog batteries for those times when I am out in public and don't want to use the eGo, if I started with the Bloog I don't know if I would have kept vaping. It is nice, but my eGo with a LR cartomizer is worlds better

Good luck to you

Welcome Scott to the wonderful and overwhelming world of ECF. I am new here myself but would be happy to share the knowledge that I have picked up. First I purchased a Ego T Mega kit....yup a tanker. ......I love it but kept reading about a burning taste and flavors not really being right....but it was easy, just fill up the tank, put on the cap and go man go!

Well then I learned real quick about the leaking problems with the hard tank caps but that was easily solved with the replacement soft caps. And then it happened....my first burnt tasting vape....man oh man I thought I would never stop coughing.

OK I had been reading more and more and then it came time to learn about the "mizers" There is the atomizer which allows you to drip your liquid right into it and the taste is awesome.....and then the cartomizer.....its a fill and go kinda thing and lasts equal to almost a pack of analogs for me anyway! I just ordered a fluxomizer today....which is basically a tank with a wicking mop inside.

So all in all....If I feel the need to vape like crazy nothing beats the ease of a tank. If I am looking for flavor but I am on the go its a boge LR (low resistance) cartomizer...and if I am hanging around at home its dripping. I think one of the most important things I have learned is that you are always learning. There will always be a better something coming along the line but I am happy to say that after 37 years I am now a non smoker and a total vapaholic :)

Good luck on your journey,

Diane

Hi Scott, i did fall into the trap of the cigarette look-alike at first, i don't regret it, it was like buying my first car, you know the little, overpriced, low peforming one that looks ok to all 18 year olds. It only took me 2 weeks to trade in that baby for a more reliable echonomical medium sized one (i'm talking about the e-cig not the car now) but anyway could you imagine what would have happened to me if i started out with the porsche 911...

I have an EPower and really like it. I would get an EPower, Riva, or kGo. Their all great kits that are inexpensive and will work alot better than the v2, and are cheaper too! Any of those I think would give you what your looking for. I like the EPower bc everything on it is replaceable and it uses non-proprietary batteries which are alot cheaper than eGo/riva/ kGo batteries so it costs alot less to maintain which is nice. It his awesome and the batteries last a long time. I get about a day to a day and a half on one battery, and when you need a new one you can just unscrew the switch and pop in a fresh battery so you never have to worry about running out of battery power. CCV has an awesome deal on it and you get $25 worth of free stuff which gives you everything you need to get going. The ressurector cartos you get for free are awesome and are what I use daily. The Ressurectors work great on the Epower, Riva, and kGo. Any of these kits I think you'll love and will give you what you need to kick the cig habit for good.
Goodluck!!

Hey all,
Thanks for all the salutations, cannot believe so many responses in such a short amount of time, haha very reassuring to have that kind of immediate support, very cool. Anyways I am still researching my first real pv purchase, I am chalking the V2 purchase that I have had for less than a week as a mulligan. I will definitely follow up with some of the previous recommendations, and actually was already considering the KGO, but thanks for the heads up! I would love to get some of your opinions as must have tries as far as juice vendors and flavors go. I am definitely doing a journal of this experience, record the experience, the reviews, the mistakes, lol, should be fun.
