Hi Sasha20,

Most new vapers want to start out with something that looks like a cigarette. This is for many reasons but usually, they just want to still fit in with the smokers. I can tell you that after about a month of vaping and when they realize that this could be the end of tobacco forever their views change. I lot then find themselves not wanting anything in their hand that looks like a cigarette.

I started on Green smoke, they were great for getting me off my 43 years habit. To be honest I never intended to stop smoking I got the kit to use where I couldn't smoke, charged the batteries and haven't had a cigarette since. Biggest surprise of my life, I had tried everything to stop before, patches, gum meds etc. I used them for about a month before I was looking to upgrade to some thing that was nothing like a cigarette lol.

So after all that explanation what I wanted to say was if you still want something that looks like a cigarette then I would recommend Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Smokeless Image Electronic Cigarettes - The Future is in your hands They are an ECF supplier and have great customer service. I would also suggest you don't over spend on a small cig a like, as I think you will want to go to something different after a little time if this works well for you.

The advise you are being given is to try and save you money in the long run, but it is a learning curve to work out all the terms and types of equipment that is available. If you decide that you can go to something a little bigger to begin with then I would recommend any Ego/Kgo/Twist type battery with 510 connection as this is the most popular fitting type on the market at present. This would require you to buy juice and fill either a cartomizer of clearomizer yourself from the beginning. These would be about the size of a sharpie marker when put together.

I would also suggest you get 18mg (1.8%) juice or cartomizers to start out with, from what you have said you currently smoke. I would also get some 12 mg (1.2%) just in case you find the 18 mg too strong.

Hope this has helped you with a few decisions. :)

Peraspera and Yves, Thank you very much for trying to keep it simple.

I am overwhelmed by all the info on the net and I know there will be a learning curve and I will probally change down the road but to start off I think the Volt at smokeless image looks good. My question is would this be a better unit and better vape than say a V2 or Green Smoke starter kit?

Also, there are lots of choices....any suggestions of which of the Volt Starter Kits to order. I was browsing the site and there are manual or auto batteries and also various cartomizers to order any suggestions. I can't imagine smoking a blueberry or chocolate etc. and yet I see all these fruity flavors etc. For now I am thinking I just want something to simulate tobacco flavor and get me off the Virginia Slims.

I will be so happy if this works for me becuase I am so sick of smoking and the cough and hacking etc.

I have not used Smokeless Image myself Sasha so it is hard for me to recommend any juice or kit from them. I would suggest you ask in this section of the forum which is Smokless Images own section. As for better vape etc, all I can say is they have a huge following here on ECF and are cheaper than some of the other option such as Green Smoke.

Smokeless Image

Just remember my advice don't over spend if you think you will change in the near future ;) Please come back and let us know how you get along with your switch to vaping :)

Hi Everyone,

I am totally new to vaping and haven't even tried it yet but been doing lots of research and feel overwhelmed by all the options. I am hoping to get some advice from everyone here on the best starter kit to purchase for my situation. I am a long time smoker (25) years of virginia slim lights (regular) not menthol. I smoke about a 1/2 to 1 pack a day. I think a KR808 model would be good for me as I want a very low hassle option to start with. My question is what starter kit would be best? I was thinking of the V2, Safecig or Green smoke since they seem to be the most talked about on the web for newbies but then I was reading posts here and introduced to many more names. Also, any advice on a Flavor that would be closest to a virginia slim light. Any advice or help you can provide would be very appreciated.

Thanks,
Sasha

Sasha, you might like the Volt. You said you want something that doesn't look like a cigar and is feminine. ECF2012 discount code will get you 10% off I think. Everyone loves the Smokeless Image customer service too.
Here are some topics here:

you can also use the "ask imagine" topic and they have somebody who will answer your questons.

Don't *assume* you only want tobacco vapes. I thought that. I was off tobacco w/in a week, vaping some tasty dessert and coffee and fruity drinks. :)

If you DO decide to go with an ego, this is a pretty nice kit here, 2 ego twist 1100 batts, 2 CE5 clearomizers, and charger: $45. All you need is juice

I think I am going to keep it simple and order the Volt. I am sure I will probally upgrade in the future but I think to start out it is a good way to go. I think i may just call customer service and get their input as I am still not sure about exactly what to order. I will definately order the sampler flavors so I can see what I like but as for the unit itself I am still confused as to whether to get manual or auto batteries etc. From my reading it sounds like auto is similar to smoking but manual is a better vape or throat hit....I still have a little more research to do today before I order.

This forum is great and very helpful! So glad I found it. All of you have responded so quick and so willing to share your experiences and knowledge. I can't thank you enough.

Where Chinese manufactured goods are concerned it's always a good idea to shop good customer service from the retailer because branding doesn't mean much and Smokeless image has a stellar reputation for customer service. Get a kit with two manual batteries unless you have some need to puff with no hands. Manual gives you a better vape.

Order some blank cartomizers and try some sample size juices from two or three places other than Smokeless Image. Finding a handful of juices you really like is hugely important so you want to try some places with a larger selection of flavors. It is unlikely all your favorites will come from Smokeless Image or any other single place. Add some non-tobacco flavors into the mix of what you choose.

I ordered 1 manual and 1 auto on my first set...much preferred the manual...yeah, and get 78mm. I now have several bats after only 2 months...but I think extra bats are more logical than charging cases...imho. All depends on your lifestyle, but 3 bats will last a long day. I did recently get a bigger X2 bat which lasts me 8-10 hours, but that's a no-go for Ms. G who much prefers the standard 78mm bats (vibrant colors and bling end caps of course).

I have tried to call Customer Service at Smokeless image several times today to ask questions but was left on hold with music playing and I eventually had to hang up. I will try again tommorrow. Guess they are very busy.

Yeah, I also tried contacting them by email, no answer in 5 days. Everyone keeps talking about how great their customer service is, but so far I 'm not convinced. They do have a great e-cig, though.

I've worked in a customer service based industry for 20+ years. That would drive me crazy. No excuse for for that.
