Lol I wasn't disagreeing or anything, edyle was kinda wrong (but kinda right by sheer coincidence). 4.85 and 5 aren't the same though, that can make a bit of difference in wattage depending on the resistance of the atomizer -- which is why some people prefer to have an adjustable wattage mod.

Also I don't think anyone's linked Steam Engine yet.. You can use this to calculate different resistances and what wattage/voltage is being put out. It might make it easier to understand that the variables are "linked", in that you can't adjust voltage without adjusting wattage, or resistance without adjusting the amperage.. etc. Worth trying some numbers just to further any confusion. I mean.. Fix any confusion.

I got my HexOhm 2.1 at a local B&M that has been great to me. I bought the batteries suggested by the vapestress (It's a word, I made it up.) They're Samsung 18650 2500mAh 3.7V.

You can put the Triton coils in the Atlantis? Sweeeet. Do you have a Triton? I want to try it, but wondering if it might be super bulky.

triton is a pretty nice tank - and yes, coils are cross compatible between them (atlantis/ triton coils can also be used in freemax starre tanks, though freemax coils won't work in atlantis - the atlantis ones are threaded at top also, freemax are not) - biggest complaint about the triton is that you cannot take it apart to clean it (you can clean it with hot water, rinse the tank - just a bit of a booger to get dry)

never underestimate the value of being able to take it to a whole new level - as long as it doesn't require too much effort to do so...

those sound like samsung 25r - light blue wrap? if so, those are very solid batteries - well done, vapestress

I'm slightly tentative, but my guess is you were frying your coils/cotton.

I was thinking on the same lines as you here. Didn't know much about her mod so held my tongue. Being you can not use variable wattage I feel you are on the right track. Most Aspire products perform much better with a regulated mod in Variable wattage mode. Otherwise burnt coils are very common. I highly recommend a upgrade of her mod to tame the demon.....

Hey wait, nobody's gonna mention here that the Hexohm is variable voltage, not wattage? Not only that, it's variable from 3.7V-6V, and its max outputtable wattage is 110W.

"How were you able to get 10W on a HexOhm?" is my question, because at minimum voltage it's 3.7V (~14W) through a 1 ohm coil. Granted, I don't know if 14W should necessarily be frying your coils, but my point is, you'll need to have the voltage turned as low as it can physically go, and even then you'll be outputting 14W.

Why I am going better on the mod I will be building. the chipset will only go to 50 watts which is not a problem for a tootle puffer but it will go down to .7 volts.
Perfect for Subamping.

One version of the Hexohm has a trimpot to adjust the voltage.

Just realized I've been Vaping 12-18mg juices in these Atlantis tanks at 0.5 ohm. [HASHTAG]#baddassalert[/HASHTAG]

For real though, I think I broke something.

I've been using my HexOhm 2.1 with Aspire Atlantis 2 tanks. Today I noticed that I was starting to get a little bit of a burnt taste and I immediately knew - A demon had farted burnt rubber sharts into my beloved 'Twas Brillig (after a week, no less!)

I changed out the coil, primed the new coil, filled the tank with fresh E-Liquid and let it soak for a good 10 minutes. I go to take a vape and BURNT RUBBER.

What. The. Frogballs.

I had my mod set to 10 Watts to break the new (1 ohm coil) in. Surely this is an issue with the coils?? This isn't the first Atlantis coil I've had taste like a hot shadoobie fresh out of the box. Am I missing something?

I mainly vape the 0.5 ohm coils around 30-40 Watts but I only have two left so I switched to my back up 1.0 ohms. It seems like the 1.0 ohm coils never taste that great. Did I get a crap box or am I having a blonde moment?

Forgot to mention: these 1.0 ohm coils are spitting juice like a 6th street...lady.
