Currently using Smok x mini with the Atlantis v1 tank (1.0 ohm coil) and a samsung 25r battery. Getting pretty nice clouds and decent flavor at 40-50w using 70/30 3mg liquid but starts to lose flavor after 45+ watts. If I use the 0.5 ohm coils or different battery will I get better cloud/taste off my tank? When I originally got the tank 2 weeks ago with the coils it came with (0.5 ohm v1 coils) and used it on my jomo lite 40 it worked like a dream, big clouds, outstanding flavor, and vapor not too warm. Trying to achieve this state again so i can quit smoking forever. I find the big clouds + flavour to be very satisfiying and makes me not want to look back at cigs

That's a difficult question to answer. There's a reason why manufacturers offer different resistance coils, as different consumers' preferences differ. Some folks like lower ohm coils, some like higher ohm coils. You may not learn which resistance you prefer until you experiment a little with different coil resistances.

Quick question: You didn't say if you've changed the original coil in the tank. Factory-made coils generally have a life expectancy of only 2 - 4 weeks. As a coil is used over time, the flavor and vapor production will degrade; hense the coils should be changed at that time.

Some tanks and mods work well together, others do not. Again, experimentation is in order. Also, there is a good reason why there are so many different tanks, coil configurations, and mods available to consumers. There is no one device which will suit the needs of everyone.

In closing, the power setting (wattage) you use is basically the setting that YOU prefer. Some people vape at under 10 watts, some people vape at 80 watts or more. I generally vape at 30 watts. Most coil manufacturers provide the recommended power ranges for their coils, either on the packaging or on their website.

yeah I changed out the coils to the v2 1.0 oh coils after I finished using the one in the tank and the extra that comes with the tank (v1 0.5 ohm)

the recomended settings for the v1 0.5 was 20-30w I believe which I only had a chance to use with the jomo lite 40 (preset at 40w) and I been using the v2 1.0 ohm coils around 40-50w (the recommended wattage)

To confuse it even more, there are a ton of coils that will work in that tank including ccell coils. I would just keep experimenting till you find what works for you.

yeah I believe the Triton and Amigo rip tide coils work with the Atlantis 1 as well. Haven't had a chance to try either. Besides the v1 0.5 ohm and the v2 1.0 ohm coils Ive only tried these generic vaportech .5 ohm coils and they were awful. Going to the local vape shop tomorrow to buy a pack of 0.5 ohm Atlantis coils hopefully that solves my issues. Getting good cloud at 45w now with the 1.0 ohm coil but flavor is almost non existent

Will using a different more high amp battery with more power maybe help with more flavor/cloud? or is that for mechnical mods only.

Welcome TP.

More vapor, more flavor. But you must have vaporization.

More power will only diffuse or disperse the vapor that's already been produced. That is, if you exceed the flow capacity of the wind or coil and air flow which should be matched by its design.

As with hot coffee or soup, we start to lose our ability to taste as the vape gets warmer. You simply won't see more flavor result from higher power if that's too much for you.

Learning basic rebuilding should allow you to produce a reliable balanced coil and discover what to expect from a properly built one. Not merely copies of examples you've already tried which don't work to your satisfaction. This will reveal what you are capable of actually tasting for comparison as you go forward. And it'll save you a lot of time and need I say it, money. Money which you can spend on gear that actually gets you where you want to go…as you then understand what it is capable of doing.

In the end you may find yourself enjoying a vape using far lower power (and yes, juice) that you can push to much higher density without going hot.

Good luck. :)

kangertech protank 4

How do you like the PT4 C? The rev low profile RDA looks promising to me. As I've posted elsewhere Kanger's diminishing support for spares which has distinguished them is unfortunate but I'm curious about this tank. How does it work with existing factory coils? Is the rba exceptional in any way? Thx loads for any 411.

Good luck. :)

I've not tried the RBA yet, when I have i'll let you know. have had a series of days when arthritis etc just makes it not worth it to try. it's no problem with the OCC coils at all.

Heard that. Hey, pin vise winding is a great aid to circulation and dexterity. If you get there let us know.

Good luck C. :)

Don't know about the rest of these guys but I like the 1st crown better than version2. Check out the ultimo and the freemax starre pure.

This seems to be consensus from what I've read here. I have the 1st and to be honest if it got any better I don't think I could take it. The flavor is incredible and wonderful clouds.
