I know many of us don't see it that way, I've been vaping over a year and don't plan to stop. Didn't do it for the hype, didn't care what people thought, I just wanted to stop smoking analogs.

I see B&Ms popping up all over and a growing demand for juice, supplies, etc. Not that it is a bad thing, I love the variety there is now! Some B&Ms are great, some are just poor quality and looking to cash in. However, someone said to me today "It is just a fad, people will eventually get over it and be done with it."

What do you guys think? If it is a fad, won't people just go back to the real deal?

I vote no, not a fad. There are a slew of folks vaping in my new office, and I am amazed every time I turn around and see someone else vaping. The unfortunate part is that I now have to go outside with the smokers to vape. :( The good news is that I am meeting a LOT of vapers that I would not have met otherwise. :)

Bottom line, I am pretty sure vaping is here to stay.

I think it's expanding too exponentially to be just a fad. A fad usually is part of a greater whole, for example disco music was a fad but once it faded away music was still there, or bell bottom jeans, or certain haircuts. So I can see fads developing in the sphere of vaping, like for example certain flavors becoming popular or new ways to coil an RBA, but when those fade away vaping itself will still be there.

I was surprised to learn that some people that never smoked are vaping with 0 NIC.
My college age daughter vapes 0-nic flavors. She was never a smoker but her BF and several of her friends were. She's converted her BF and brother to vaping to quit cigarettes as well as a couple of her other friends since she began vaping a few months ago.

Not a fad because, and this is a big one, it WORKS.
It may be a fad for the young kids but for smokers? Nope.

I can't see myself giving it up for a long time, if ever. Robino1 is right; simply put, it WORKS.

I agree that if it is a fad, it is certainly a good one! If it looks "cool" and everyone is "doing it" and that sparks smokers to make the switch, I'm all for it!

I enjoy vaping even more now than when I started in January 2013. It just gets better and better as you learn what you like. I'm sure some of the non smokers who buy the 0 nic will probably give up on it after awhile, but for me this keeps me off the real ones. I certainly hope it is here to stay.

Yep, I agree with others that it may be a fad for non-smokers or kids who think it's "cool". My 21 year old step-daughter's boyfriend is a hookah smoker, and when I showed him my new gear a month or so ago, he got really interested as a way to take his "hookah" around with him without all the set up time. He also thinks it's starting to affect his breathing and was very interested in the stuff I was showing him.

Don't know if he'll take the plunge but I think for people like him it would be a short lived thing, for entertainment purposes.

I was a 30 year smoker and quit with ecigs and probably won't quit vaping so for me, I don't care if it's a fad that peters out; I'll still be vaping.

I was in a school where some people picked up ecigs for fun, its not recommended but it is what helped grow the industry to what it is today, and I agree with alot of the post above that where there is a person that is legitimately looking to quit there will be a demand for ecig products, thats not to say for every legitimate user there isnt a few that picked up one for fun. But it defiantly is not a fad, smoking is always relevant no matter what form it takes if theres a device to inhale a substance and blow smoke out it will always be in demand.
