Not a fad because, and this is a big one, it WORKS.
It may be a fad for the young kids but for smokers? Nope.

Once again, Robino1 is right, IT WORKS. I can't possibly see how it could be put in the "fad' category. Most all of us here have either tried the patch, Chantix, acupuncture, hypnosis or whatever else you can think of with no positive results. I'm talking about those of us with a serious nic addiction. This is certainly not a fad for me. The kids that are cloud chasing, possibly.

It's not a fad for the many thousands it's helped put down the cigs but I see fad elements. When I go into a b&m there is bunches of kids into cloud chasing etc. that's not a bad thing. They are learning physics, ohms law and being creative. When I was their age we had cigs and "other stuff" we got creative chasing clouds with. I'd rather see them vape then risk cancer, emphysema and all the other wonderful things ciggys bring with them. I can see the cloud chasing going away once someone masters the .0000001 ohm coil and makes a weather alert for commuters but again it's all good as long as they are of legal age and making informed choices. Now hopefully the nanny state will see it as a passing fad and leave us alone to enjoy it
