Hey guys! So this has been a huge week in my vaping world. Near the top of the highlight list is the genuine Atomic rda I was able to get my hands on, which is my first RDA. This thing is fantastic, and I have been deeply loving every minute of it. As soon as it arrived, I ran inside, cleaned it, achieved my second micro coil build, and have been vaping away, extremely happy. Today, I decided that I wanted to clean her out and try some different coil/wick ideas, when I realized that the screw to the negative post I was not using for my build has locked tightly into the post. As gently as possible, I tried to get it out with a couple of screw drivers. Soaked, rinsed, repeated. No luck. After some more fiddling, I ended up unscrewing and pulling out the whole post, which honestly, I didn't know I could do. While I was inspecting the deck, I noticed a couple of weird looking wire bits sticking out from the positive/center post. As far as I can tell, one fell out while I was fiddling, but I managed to get a photo of the longer "tail". So, three questions...
First : does anyone have any good ideas about freeing the stuck screw?
Second : do all three posts unscrew? If so, is there an easier way to achieve this without getting screws stuck in the other posts too?
And third : Is that little metal tail supposed to be there?

Thanks in advance for your time and help! Hope you are all having a fantastic weekend :)

I just got an authentic Atomic as well, and i did notice that the terminal screws were very tightly screwed down when I first went to use it.....I bet what happened is that they screwed yours down a little too tight....and that coupled with some leftover machining debris probably caused the screw to become jammed. I am not sure the best way to resolve this (maybe put the post in a vise and use a pair of pliers to try and loosen the screw?), but I just wanted to let you know that my screws were also tightly screwed down.....MCV probably did this so that they do not come loose during shipping....

Hmmm, thanks you guys. There doesn't seem to be much (detailed) information circulating about the Atomic yet, so it will be nice to have a few Atomic friends to talk to.
@fivefour : Sounds awesome. Safe travels!
@jpcwon : Congrats on the new piece! How do you like it so far? What you said makes good sense.. I'll let you know if I discover any innovative means for freeing it up. Have you removed any of your posts yet? Also, do you know anything about the little metal tail in the picture? I think it might have just been shavings (I'm hoping so, anyway ) because I removed it by gently fiddling with some tweezers..

Hey man,

Love it!! It is a great little RDA....very easy to build on and the flavor is excellent! I also like how you can lock down the airflow control....I also got a new Crown RDA and the one thing I don't like is that you cannot lock the airflow holes in place, so they just spin freely...

I haven't removed any of the posts yet...didn't know you could until I saw your post! haha.....But it's good to know that you can dissassemble the atty if you need to....

I didn't notice any machining debris in mine, but I will look again and let you know if I find any....

Glad to hear it! The airflow control is awesome. It's super easy and intuitive, and definitely stays in place. The flavor and vapor production have been blowing me away.

Aside from the screw issue (which should ultimately be pretty easy to figure out) the whole design seems pretty brilliant and nearly flawless to me.. One thing I have noticed is that I have almost tripled my juice usage.. It's like a little delicious cloud factory. What kind of coil/wick are you using on yours?

I had no idea I could do it either! Kind of happy I achieved that accident so I could learn and share ;) I haven't seen any information at all about removing the posts. Haha!

As I said, I didn't notice that metal bit until the second cleaning.. It was pinned under the center post insulator, but I can't think of a purpose it would serve intentionally.. Thanks for your help!

That's a lot of cotton you got stuffed in there, any reason why so much?

Also I see you have that on the Magneto, could you post a pic with the cap on from the side?

Yeah it is a bit too much, isn't it? lol.....The deck on the Atomic is very small, so it makes it look like there's more than there is...I just recoiled it with 26ga (again!) and used much less cotton this time.....it is vaping wonderfully now!!

That looks great, I have the Magneto also and was wondering what 19mm was going to like on a 22mm mod.

Which drip tip is that?

Thanks! Yeah I am not sure about the drip tip....it's just a generic wide-bore shorty drip tip that I got on Ebay....if I can find a link I will post it...

That looks awesome! :) I've been running a single coil of 28g kanthal (A-1) at about 10 wraps, reading out at 1.6ohms. I've been using hemp sliver as wick. I know you didn't ask... but here is mine anyway, hahah.

I feel like everyone is all about the flush mount, which I understand, but I actually really like the 19mm on 22mm. Okay...?!
I admit it. I like the gap. I like how it looks, and it makes the juice well on the top of the semovar extremely functional. :p

Still too bad the Semovar doesn't have an adjustable 510.

I don't have any experience with hemp (not wicks anyway), I would say less lying on the deck. The shorter the wick the faster it wicks.

I use the adjustment on the v2 Magneto all the time, I don't have OCD about 22mm on 22mm but I do have it when it comes to the atomizer screwing all the way down.

An Atomic riding atop a Semo or Zombie edition provari, very nice. ;)

I haven't played with it yet, but I'm pretty sure the semovar does have an adjustable 510. It certainly looks like it.. I'll report back later :)

Hemp wick has been treating me extremely well. I went for your suggestion and used a little less, then doubled back beneath the coil. Definitely my best build yet. Still unable to release my trapped screw, but I'll work on that again next cleaning.

That makes good sense to me. You guys love your Magnetos, yeah? I'm currently developing mental disorders over my russian 91%'s adjustable pin. I love everything about it, except for that "feature". I think I have it figured out now, and I got a great build running on it yesterday. However the only reason I had to rebuild it, was because the adjustable pin decided to adjust itself. Anyway.

I bought the Zombie Provari as a surprise present for the missus, and the semo for myself. Of course, I wanted to get my semovar from cloud9, so her's showed up a week earlier. She lets me play with it sometimes ;). We love them both very, very much. And the atomic is dreamy on top. Thanks for the compliment ;).

Well, I can confirm that the semovar has an adjustable 510 center pin. Also, accessories (which I don't have or really want) for 14-22mm. I'm super excited to get my hands on a mechanical switch for it, when I can find one. If you are looking for love... I have a suggestion. Only complaint is the size in regulated mode with the 18650s, so I usually use 18500s too. Anyway, thanks for chatting with me, atomic friends ;) you guys are cool.
