Hello,

I have several unrelated questions I hope some of you can answer.

I am a fairly recent Mini Reo purchaser and I have waited to give my impressions until I had time to use it.

I have to say, I love this Mini Reo. It was somewhat of a slow start for numerous reasons, (availability of specific atty’s, batteries, etc). With almost all of those issues resolved and better understanding of how to best utilize my batteries, I feel the rave reviews of the Reo are 100%. It is that good, it is exceptional and they really are beautifully made units… pictures do not do them justice!

Also as a note… originally I used 25 mg nicotine strength fluid when I first started vaping and eventually worked my way down to 16 mg. With the Reo, I am currently down to 6 mg! I found that the 16 mg on the Reo was simply too much for me (a good thing!). I am going to soon purchase 0 mg fluid to try vaping hopefully at least 75% of time and see how that goes (keeping my fingers crossed!).

My questions are:

1. What is the science behind Naolox? Why do I need to use this?

2. I am a preferred menthol vaper and like a “cooler” vape. The 905 V3 unit I have, used with an Iken LR 901 atty, is a perfect cooler vape for me. I have used the 2.0 & LR 1.8 901 atty’s on the Reo and it is a “warmer” vape. I am just curious, is this because of how the Reo works that appears to make for a warmer vape?

3. Do the AW 18650 batteries on a Grand Reo last that much longer compared to the AW 14500 batteries on the Mini Reo? Is the Grand a lot heavier than a Mini and harder to hold and maneuver?

I am so thankful for this forum, it is a true blessing!

Thank you, c

Noalox guards against oxidation, and improves connectivity on connections. It is recommended for use where the connecting point contacts the battery in the aluminum REO's.

2. I am a preferred menthol vaper and like a “cooler” vape. The 905 V3 unit I have, used with an Iken LR 901 atty, is a perfect cooler vape for me. You might want to try a regular 2.0 510 atty. They will provide a cooler vape that is good for sweet flavors.

3. Do the AW 18650 batteries on a Grand Reo last that much longer compared to the AW 14500 batteries on the Mini Reo? Is the Grand a lot heavier than a Mini and harder to hold and maneuver?
The AW IMR 18650 batteries last about twice the length of time for me.
Grand:
=====
Height: 3-3/4"
Width: 1-11/16"
Depth: 15/16"

Mini:
=====
Height: 3-1/8"
Width: 1-1/2"
Depth: 3/4"

The Reo Grand with a full 6 ml bottle and an 18650 battery weighs 6.3 ounces.
And the mini fully loaded with 3ml bottle and 14500 batttery, atomizer and drip tip is 4.2oz

Here is a picture comparing the two:

I have both and find I hold the Grand different. Really same comfort holding each.

congratz on having a mini vward. Wow you have patience to be able to wait to give a user's impression of the reo. When I first got mine I was so happy and excited I wanted to shout out my impressions of it within the first hour of vaping on it :)

That's great that you've been able to cut down your nic level so much! I myself have been pretty steady at 18mg and even on occassion I'm thinking of bumping it up to 24mg.

Like nerak - I too have both a grand and a mini and I have really small hands. The mini of course is perfect for small mitts like mine and for the grand I too make up for the size difference by holding it differently. Its still fits great in smaller hands once you've found your comfortable holding method. About the one and only thing I choose my mini over is when it comes to fitting in the back pocket of my jeans or something. The grand is still pocketable, but it is bigger so putting it in and getting it out is not as super simple as the mini. BUT, the grand lasts me a whole 2 days worth of vaping whereas the mini requires a refill and a battery change once a day. I highly recommend having both if you can afford it.

Hello Lori68...

I seemed to have lost my reply to your message, I hope I am not repeating myself...

Regarding the lower nicotine dose, I work from home and can vape all day long and I do. I think that is perhaps why I was able to cut down on my nicotine. I hated the way I felt when I over-nicotined.

I may invest in a Grand in the future as battery life is an issue with me now. Outside of having some type of electronic mod that uses some type of vape mask, bigger batteries seem the only solution! ;-)

Thank you for your response!

I had the mini (only) for quite a while. I'm retired so spend most of my time at home, and I really like the mini. Plus I didn't want to invest in another whole set of batteries, but the siren song of longer battery life kept ringing in my ears :)

Long story short, I went ahead finally and got a grand. I haven't regretted it once, in fact, my poor minis have gotten a bit neglected, although I plan on taking one with me next month on a trip (just as backup).

I can't attribute my satisfaction to anything other than laziness, but it sure is sweet to vape most of the day on ONE battery. :)

is there any way of knowing battery life on the mini or is it just going by the lack of vapor? I am getting my mini today and was just thinking about the battery life and over discharging

Short of taking the battery out and testing it, there's really no way to tell. I only use the AW IMR's, so if you use something different, this may not apply. However, I found that after about 2 hours of vaping, they'd drop down to around 3.9v, and the vapor and flavor dropped off as well. Rob mentioned that he changes them out at around 3.9v and I've been doing that ever since. They will *function* much longer than that, but I'm spoiled by that "fresh off the charger" hit I get by changing them out frequently. Oh. And they will cease to fire the atty before they become overdischarged.

And it's my understanding that you don't buy anything by vaping them lower, the batteries are perfectly happy to be recharged when they get to 3.9(ish), supposedly, it has no effect on the service life of the batteries.

ETA: Welcome, Vward and Pipeous. Glad to have you aboard! :)

Many of us tend to notice a performance drop before the battery quits. I often take my batteries out at 3.8-3.9 and place them on the charger. Its just something you can tell. After a few cycles you will notice the same I bet. :) Its good to meter them coming out of the mod a few times to get a feel for where they're at when you notice a change in the performance. After that, it becomes second nature. :)

sounds good. I use multiple pv's anyway. I have a rev2 and an 1100 mah ego battery I put in the pocket. can't vape 1 flavour all day. I ordered 2 14500 imr's so should be good for now. might have to order a few more in and an easier charger (though my charger is killer). I just know juice feeders are my nirvana now. I might have to get a grand down the road though.

Welcome new REOnauts, Vward and Pipeous :)

I also have one of each because I too like to vape different flavors throughout the day. Sometimes I'll put one of my 4.8v batteries in my Grand when I'm using the juices that taste better at higher voltages. I own 4 of each type that I use on my REO's (4 AW IMR 14500's for the mini, 4 AW IMR 18650's and 4 NI-MH 4.8v (light green color) batteries for my Grand. The 4.8v batteries require a different charger specifically made for them though.

well I got my reo yesterday afternoon and vaped a lot since. it's so compact and comfortable to hold. my only complaint would be mine has a weak battery on the cover door and that falls off easy... big convern since I lost the bottle cover off my rev 2 today somewhere never to be found again haha. boge lr carto vaping dekang virginia and it's a very nice vape. I like the little tube inside the bottle for filling without tipping like my boge rev2. some thought what I paid seems steep but really for what you get and the quality of the build it's not bad. I can compare these 2 brands and see stuff like the juice cup, rev2 doesn't have one. cartos actually screw in more than one thread (always worry about cross threading or screwing threads up dropping the refv2, not the reo), button is solid, reo has a bigger, replaceable battery than my rev2 (I got 1st gen rev 2 with a 500 mah battery). rev2 has usb the reo doesn't but it's twice as big, well almost...

very nice. juice boxes are about the only thing I like now and I have a cadillac rather than driving my old datsun around

So glad you are enjoying vaping your REO!
You can put some super glue on the door magnet and that should hold it in place.
Researching before I bought my first REO build quality was one of my concerns. But a Grand or Mini made of solid aircraft aluminum sounded like something that would last! It didn't disappoint me when I first held it in my hands.
Seeing the thought and that went into the design and build of REO's is a quality that gets respect.
Like you said, in it's own right a Cadillac of PV's!

well the magnet trick has mad a difference. the lid holds better now. I just placed a really strong magnet on

this mini is shiny black with a silver door. I was told it's kind of rare. I like this thing and can see me getting a grand in the future, or at least another mini (or 2)

Rob has upgraded the magnets on the last couple of batches. If you buy a new Grand, you won't have to change the magnets :)
