So I have been using my Reo Grand for a couple of months and LOVE it... I have 2 minis and 2 Grands.. I was reading the other day how people were saying that the same atty on a reo woodville was a lot hotter than it is on a Reo Grand... Which made me think.... Since the Reoo Grand uses the body to conduct power, and the woodville uses a wire.. there must be resistance in the Grand...
So I checked the Ohm rating on my grand from the negative terminal where the battery sits to the brass fitting, and I got a reading of 0.5 Ohms...

So the question becomes... does this mean when I am using my 1.5 LR 306 Atty, it is actually a 2.0 LR, since 0.5 ohm is being used by the Body of the Grand ?

That seems reasonable....but I think Rob would need to clarify that. I think that testing it under load would be the way to do it. But whatever you do....DO NOT put multimeter leads in the atty connector or adapter while there is a battery in the mod and press the button. You will not like the results. :)

I believe you can actually increase the resistance of the Grand or Mini by how you hold it too.

Its like the iPhone "death grip" :)

All mods have some resistance to them, but i always figured the same.

Copper wire must work a little better than anodized aluminum body for conducting current I guess.

Some will dispute the science and chalk it up to REO magic :)
