I tried some liquids, very, very delicious and found out that they kill heaters shortly - wicks get dirty. I like these liquids, so tried to find out a way to make an easily replaceable, instant wicks.

My idea is to make a flat or U-shaped heater.

Flat heater:

You can use two these heaters in parallel with a wick between them. Easy to replace and to maintain.

Another way - a heater, bent U-shaped:

Now you can insert a wick inside this U-shaped heater and replace it easily without a touching of the wire:

I used the insulated wire as a wick, just to show how this system should work...

BJ, no frame, I just made it usung a forceps, flat and thin forceps.

myyrkezaan, I did not try this concept yet, just made the heater. Approx the same heater already was created by breaktru, but my idea is to use it in a special atomizer: two parallel vertical wicks with bottom feed and one small horisontal wick inside the heater about 6-7-8 mm long. So you just replace this small daughter wick to repair the atomizer, no need to replace heater wire.
So I need a separate, specific atomizer to make this all. Now I am too busy on my work, will make the atty after the New Year, we in Russia have 1 week weekend.

Ok it was breaktru I saw a while back and I tried a few on the vivi nova before going with the oval wick. Good luck.:toast:

Well, I made the rough prototype. Used my old atomizer made to try the idea of Triskach's inkwell.

Here is the U-shaped heater connected.

And here is the wick inserted into the heater.

I did not try a SS mesh yet, used my old good wick from pre-genisis era :)

Now trying to vape, dripping. It works effectively, why not... When I get the wick clogged, I will try to replace it independently from the heater. This was the purpose of the test...

Richmond, Va...Right in Altria's back yard.
Looks like you doubled the surface area of that over a conventional wrap. What if you alternated the loops so they locked without touching almost like puzzle pieces?

No picture but this might work.....spread the fingers on your left hand...now do the same with your right hand and fit them together so both middle fingers are side by side. The rest of your fingers should interlock too except for your pinkies and thumbs.

Thats what Im talking about doing with the coils so they lock into place around the wick.

Well, I tried a SS wick both in the atomizer and later separately - just a heater and a wick. The result - no joy. Very difficult to combine the heater wire with the SS wick in this design. Now I stopped to attempt to make a U-shaped heater with a SS mesh wick. Will try to make something useful with a flat heater...

Anyway, this system works happily with organic wicks like Nomex.
