those look decent as a starter bundle. Nothing special and will need to be upgraded within a few months if she gets into it.
If she wants to go with a lasting setup, MFS has a decent deal on a coolfire and subtank mini
Cool Fire Subtank Bundle | Cool Fire IV & Subtank Mini - MyFreedomSmokes

which i would suggest to anyone wanting to actually have a long lasting and satisfying experience.
The subtank also has an rba base (all i use in it) in addition to the occ coils. So she could either buy replacement coils, or learn to coil herself and save money.

I started on an ego style, but wish i had a setup like that from the get go.

Hi James.

I'd go for something with at least variable voltage, so she can adjust to taste.

Something like this: Beginner E-Cig Starter Kit - eGo style starter kits - Starter Kits & Bundles - MyFreedomSmokes

and get two batteries, two toppers and at least one charger :)

That would come in at about $28 there, give her flexibility to have two flavors going at once, and also allow her to vape one while the other is charging.

Then take her to a local shop for some flavor testing, and she'll be good to go!

I personally haven't used those specifically. However, I have used similar items.
If I had to pick between those, I'd pick the grab bag. 2 650mah batteries, pretty much 2 of everything.
The second one only comes with one 350mah battery. You're getting twice the stuff for the same price in the grab bag. However the grab bag comes with 2 18mg juice and that would be a waste because she would only use 0mg you said.

However, I'd go with a coolfire 4 and subtank mini or nautilus mini before going to them little Evod's. The vape isn't that enjoyable from an evod type setup, even when I was beginner. Not sure if price is an option though, but I'd rather spend a bit more on start up with a setup that would last.

I have suggested the Istick 30w with a nautilus or nautilus mini. Also pointed her towards the right coils. She is wanting to go cheaper so I was looking at the cheaper end. The 30w has really come down in price online so it is a good buy.

Eleaf iSmoka iStick 30W Battery Only

A site I have ordered from before. lol. I will need to help her find a charger though. My Istick 30w I got from them didn't come with one.

Then you got people like that above ^^ that don't even try to contribute something useful.

Personally I hated the feel of the little evod, I didn't want something to feel "familiar". I wanted something better that would help me quit. For example, I will bring my mother into an example, she uses an evod, or tried, she threw it in a box and forgot about it. She hated it, the size, the lack of power, the lack of an enjoyable vape. She'd rather smoke cigarettes than use an evod style setup. That's why I brought my suggestion in, because she loves my iStick 50w and subtank mini with a pre-built coil. She just hates flavors.

The battery lasts her 5 days and that's perfect for her. Instead of the sarcastic response such as Steve gave, he could've actually given a real answer. Just because a device can do 50w doesn't mean everyone does it. Both tanks I listed uses pre-built coils. Plus battery life would be a ton better. Even my dad can change a coil in a subtank. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to screw a coil on. So, in my dad's case, it WAS the best and easiest setup for a beginner because he is now smoke free for 5 months.

James, my friend uses the iStick 30w and Nautilus Mini as well. It's a great combination as well.

Definitely 50+ watts and an RBA. That's the best and easiest setup for a beginner...
the coolfire is incredibly easy to use, lasts all day unlike the ego sticks, and has vv/vw. takes like 2 seconds to explain how to use to her
I listed the rba as a feature not as the selling point. like any of the other tanks, the subtank takes standard coils. She does not have to use the rba feature, but has a more advanced option if she chooses to go that route, without having to spend more on a whole new tank.

c'mon man, don't be so contrarian. Its a an easy and far superior setup to an ego.

I found a kit on there that has everything she needs including the charger. I just missed it before. I wish I had seen that when I ordered my setup. I ended up ordering it by itself from there so I didn't get a charger. lol. Oh well. i got me the sub-tank mini. She isn't ready to commit to that though. I wanted to make sure she got a good setup that was sorta cheap at least. Hell that setup is one I had considered for myself when I decided to buy my current setup lol.

My mod will do 200w but has yet to see above 60. Also I have to agree it is not wise for a beginner to jump right into rba's. But as stated above there are replaceable coils as well for it. I know some people (myself included) that started small and upgraded over time. I also know people that jumped right in with a box mod and sub tank. It really depends on what style she is looking for. Time and time again I've read on here it's all about personal preferences. I wouldn't recommend she start out rebuilding coils, but she needs to have an idea of what she is trying to accomplish. If she simply wants something small to just puff on or to see if she will enjoy vaping, she should get a small ego style starter. If it's something she is going to stick with and doesn't mind a somewhat bigger device then it may be worth the few extra bucks to get an upgraded device. But at the end of the day her decision needs to be based on what she wants.

My daughter and I quit smoking, cold turkey, around 9 years ago. We started vaping around 3 years ago, when stress and cravings were really making us want to start smoking again. We moved up from cigalikes to Evods last year, and could not be happier.

For us, the Evods are great. Relatively inexpensive to purchase, use, and maintain. They fit our tight budget very well, and we are very happy with the vape we get from them.

If your friend is "on the fence" about whether vaping will suit her, I can see why she would want something relatively inexpensive. Cigalikes actually worked for us to quell the desire to start smoking, and at the time we thought we wanted something more like a cigarette. We switched to the Evods because we were tired of the expense of replacing cartos. At least with the Evods we can clean the coils and get a few extra uses out of them before we pitch them.

I hope she finds something she can be happy with.

I'm sure this varies by person but for me, vaping 0 nic would not give me anywhere near the sensation of smoking. A juice that is 6 nic and any higher VG than 70 is like breathing air for me. Yummy tasting air, but no sensation there.

a 50/50 mix with around 10 nic gives a nice smoking sensation for me anyway.

She hasn't smoked cigarettes since she was a teenager. So it has been a long time. She just wants 0 nic and to be able to enjoy inhaling the good flavor and make clouds. Her wanting clouds and wanting it simpler and cheaper is what made me suggest the setup to her i did. It isn't too much and she is getting her money's worth. BTW I smoked for 14 years. I am down on nic to in between 3 mg and 18 mg depending on the juice and what I got here. I haven't been able to be too picky lately. i have found 3 mg is doing it for me just as well as the higher nic though unless I am really stressed. Considering what it is she is wanting and not wanting the nic, what I suggested seems like the best choice. I had to go back to how my frame of mind was in the beginning. Though unlike her i was dealing with cig withdrawals. The learning process should go quicker for he then me. Though I know for now she still won't want anything too complicated until she is sure she likes it. If she doesn't I might buy it off her when I get the money so she can at least get her money back.

well since she quit smoking, not sure we want to get her back on nicotine. I mean nicotine isn't bad. But if we start her back on nicotine and she doesn't like vaping, then it would be all too easy to jump right back into cigs.

but if she is looking for nicotine, nic percentage would depend on the type of tank she gets. If she is going on a subtank, 10mg would be pretty high. I use 3-6mg for my subtanks and rdas

That is $65...kinda a huge jump from the $20 stuff the OP was quoting
Oh i agree. I was more thinking 65 to last for the next few years, vs. 20 today and then in two months spending more to get what she might want.

again, i started with an ego style, but it just didnt do it for me and i ended up spending a lot more within a month or two.

Which is why I didn't reply to that post lol. I saw it. Looks nice. But isn't what she is wanting. Even what I suggested was more then she originally wanted to spend. But she trust my opinion on this and realizes it really isn't overpriced. She is getting some quality gear. Which is what all vapors need when we first start out. Plus she will be able to use the istick 30w with a sub-tank if she ever gets one.
