My parents are long time heavy smokers, 40-50 years. Someone had given them a Fifty-one brand ecig from the mall a few weeks ago which they let me try as my first. That certainly got me on the right track, however I don't want them to use those.

The problem is, they are really set in their ways and I don't see them dripping, refilling cartos, etc.

I'd like to get them a VERY high quality kit. I'm thinking cigarette style battery, not sure of the term or number, and high quality filled cartomizers.

Any thoughts?

The 51 is a pretty weak device. You might be surprised how they might adapt IF they have a device that works better. I would suggest a RIVA 510 with cartomizers that don't need to be refilled as often. If it better "feels" from an inhaled standpoint more like the real thing, they are more apt to stay with it. Here's a good supplier well supported on ECF:

There are a lot of people getting e-cigarettes for their parents today!

I'll ME TOOO! the KR808d-1 people, because that's the one that requires the least effort on her part.

See how she takes to it. She might surprise you and start asking next week if there are bigger faster ones that come with ears.

Or she might sit there in her easy chair and contentedly puff her KR808d-1 year after year.
