I want to use E-Cigs, but afraid of parents finding out I smoke by having packages delivered to my house?

Oh heck yes!..I can and I think I will get a PO Box. Quick question if anyone knows about this (I can also call the post office up) but you pay by box size..if my package doesn't fit into the allotted space, do I just pick it up at the window of the post office or they deny my package??

All the packages I've got so far fit in my mailbox so you probably wouldn't need a big one. I had one about 10 years ago and it wasn't that much a year. If I'm remembering correctly there were 3 sizes. I think I had the medium one and it might have been $35 a year. I'm sure it's more now though.

You could probably get the small one though and probably most the packages would fit. Also if it doesn't like someone already posted if it doesn't fit you will get a yellow card just like the one you would get if a package wouldn't fit in a mailbox and pick it up on the counter.

I come from an asian collectivist culture. Honesty and doing what's right personally, is something I learned from being born in the West. Old school familial values are, you don't bring shame on your family, ESPECIALLY your parents...and you long for the day where you're old enough that you worry about your family shaming you

I'm inclined to agree that "honesty is the best policy" here, but then I don't know your parents or your family dynamics. Anyway it's great you're making the decision to quit smoking, and don't worry, things will work out. Summer's a while off yet. Welcome to ECF, & happy vaping!

unless your parents smoke ?? they already know you are smoking,,,,,

you are an adult now,,time to be responsible for your actions eh ???

Hi GirlInTheWorld, First off I am so glad you have decided to quit using cigarettes. I wish I had been so smart & quit when I was younger (but alas, too stupid I guess). And welcome to ECF. OK, so here come the mom in me...
...I'm a mom & really appreciated when my kids were upfront with me. Yeah, they might have a fit at first, but as others here have said, You are an adult, time to be an adult. Sorry Hun, but such is life. As adults we have to be responsible for our actions & their consequences. But in the long run, I think your parents will appreciate your honesty & the forethought you have put into guarding your health.
I also agree with denali, if your parents don't smoke they already know but haven't said anything. And if they do smoke, they probably already know too. I knew when my kids smoked & I was a smoker. Thankfully my lovely DD has quit altogether. Now I'm trying to get my son into e-cigs now & off of the killer stix.
Anyway, best of luck to you, welcome to ECF & blessings. :)

I have a PO Box and get stuff sent all the time, if the package is too big they put a slip in your box and you just take it to the counter or window and they bring you your package. So yes this would probably work well for your situation, just get the smallest box they have, so you can save a bit of cash.

That being said, Newell and all the other related posts are definetely the more mature way to go...I kinda wish vaping was more well known...Then the conversation would probably go...

Kid: Mom?....I'm pregnant
Mom: WHAT!?!?!
Kid:...actually not really, but I smoke
Mom: *Gasp*
Kid: actually not really either...
Mom:....!?!??!
Kid: But I'm a vaper...
Mom: I'm so proud of you...let's go get you an ice cream *Hug*

My parents are way too old fashion for that, no way I'm coming clean about my ciggy habit! I'm an adult now, yes, and I KNOW when I should keep things to myself. My every decision does not need to be communicated to them. I know what I need to do. Yes they are parents, and I have made a mistake by picking up the habit they once had, but its none of their business. I agree though, if I had kids, I'd be open with them and make sure they told me about any thing like cigs that was going on because its part of the life lesson. But not my parents! I honestly think they'd rather not hear it - (I know my parents) They aren't american, they are oooold fashion. And as an adult, thats my choice :D

I'm a lot older than you, and wouldn't consider discussing ecigs with my folks. THey know that I smoke(d), but we don't discuss it.

THey're about as offensive a bunch of ignorant, bigotted, holier than thou antismokers as you could ever have the misfortune of meeting, and I just don't have the energy to discuss it.

Ecigs make it easier, as they are less obvious. (And I see them only every few years, so it's not real hard to avoid conversations.) Get stocked up before you go home, get a friend to receive supplies for you, and voila. Nothing to worry about.

That said- They probably do know that you smoked. It would be hard not to.

Best,
Ande
