A good nebulizer for nicotine liquid vaping??

Been reading today... e-cigarettes are like small nebulizers. Anyone here using a nebulizer to vape from???

Any suggestions which ones might provide a heavy, powerful vapor?? I'm coming from a 2-3 pack, lungbuster fullflavor cigarettes... and even e-cigs are sort of disappointing when it comes to satisfaction of the heavy blur of smoke I'm accustomed to.
E-cigs are healthier than tobacco though. So I don't want to go back..

Hi Sharon! Congrats on quitting with the e-cig. It might just be the model you are using (I see you have a Pure Smoke?). All e-cigs are not created equal and almost all of us have purchased one of these mini types before finding this forum and most of us also find the mini models to be less than satisfactory when it comes to vapor production. You might want to read these threads with examples of others who had purchased the same model you have and were also asking questions about it. Perhaps it will help you make up your mind if you need to go another way.

If you decide you are ready for something else, you might want to consider a few of these models: The 510 is one of the most popular model (I use this as well) and with the new larger battery Tornado/eGo type set up that is being sold that works with the 510 atomizer (comes with them), new users are finding a easy transition from smoking with the great vapor they produce.

Another easy method is to go with cartomizers (either prefilled or blanks that you put your own liquid in). The KR808D is also one of the more popular models. There is also a cartomizer model for the 510.

More information on the models and the e-cig in general can be found here:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ping-illustrated-guide-e-cigs-part-1-6-a.html and also http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/67326-wonderful-world-vaping-part-2-6-a.html (has model info)

The rest of that series (and other great threads) can be found in the ECF Library: The ECF Library - E-Cigarette Forum

Several suppliers carry these two models I mentioned above (as well as a few others). You can search for them in the Supplier's Forum or feel free to PM me if you need some help.

As far as a nebulizer goes... why? LOL I don't believe they heat liquid (which is required in order to get the nicotine and propylene glycol/veg. glycerin to turn into vapor). I think a nebulizer uses compressed air to break up the liquid it to turn it into an aerosol. I really don't think it will come close to working the same as an e-cig for vapor that you can see when you exhale. I like that part about vaping :2cool:

 Nebulizer!!

I am PRETTY sure that Hellen is correct, they aerosol the liquid, not vaporize it. My son has one from when the doctor thought he had asthma. (It was just his MOM and I smoking around him, so we quit) Maybe I should load that badboy up with some juice and see if it kills me!!

Hopefully you meant vaporizer, not trying to mean, it is just an opportunity I could not pass up.

You know what's funny, the VERY first time i tried an e-cig it had that similar taste that aerosol from an SVN does when nebulizing normal saline. LOL. I also gave out a number of SVN treatments to patients today and every time i give one i always think of vaping. lol.

it would be a cool aerosol if you attempted to nebulize e-juice, SVNs have no heating element in them at all and work because of the jet, high flow, baffles, etc. doesn't look so sophisticated but the design was probably difficult to come by initially. =]

plus, i wouldn't recommend nebulizing e-juice. (1) you'd go through a good amount of e-juice within a matter of minutes (2) deposition probably wouldn't be great w/o a breath hold (just like giving a medication) (3) it would definitely give the FDA something to feed off of (4) ALOT of e-juice would be wasted because SVNs generate a continuous aerosol, even when you're not breathing in.

@oettinger: lol. i better know my stuff about this or i shouldn't be in this medical program. i'm actually a respiratory therapy student, that's why. =] i just started clinical rotations last week and have been giving albuterol, atrovent, and xopenex via SVN alot. my summer rotation focuses around general floor care, that's why. =P

there are ALOT of acronyms that i don't understand quite yet, ESPECIALLY in charts. it feels like medical speak is a whole separate language from english... i hate it. LOL. but i have to learn it, one way or another. =P

OK, back to Sharon. Welcome to ECF. I think you just got a weak ecig. If you don't care if your PV looks like a cigarette and you want a good hit you may just want to look into a big battery mod. One of the differences in one of those batteries and a stock ecig battery is that the 3.7 volt ones come off the charger putting out around 4.1 or 4.2 volts whereas a stock ecig batt never goes above 3.2 or so volts. The extra volt makes a big difference in vapor production. The bigger batteries also hold a charge much longer (many times longer),can be recharged more times and are cheaper to replace.
Here's a link to an online list of available mods. e-Cig Mod Database | e-Cig Battery Tube Mods
Some of them are pretty good looking too.
Good luck with everything.

I'm interested to know if anyone has TRIED this.
I had the idea back when I worked for a medical supply company selling, shipping and repairing O2 concentrators and portable nebulizers (still kicking myself for not looking into it more then).

I'm especially interested in how the small ultrasonic type nebulizers might work. If heating the nicotine is necessary to make it absorb or something then I can understand why it might not work, but if it's to do with how much air the bigger compressor driven nebulizers push the pg solution out with, then the ultrasonic style doesn't force air through a traditional nebulizer cup, but rather vibrates the cup full of pg solution ultrasonically or forces the pg solution up through a microscopic mesh that's vibrating ultrasonically and has a vent so you draw in whats built up in the top of the neb and waste very little of the pg solution.

I was about to start a new thread, but decided to bump this one when I found it in search.

I so understand! I would be rich if I had a nickel for everytime someone said you're a nurse and smoke? I smoked to relieve the stress as a RT you know what codes are like and you need to chill after. I worked ER for years and OMG what I saw and dealt with I should've been drinking with that smoke.
