I understand what you are saying in defense of the market but I will say that so many of those mods are not mass readily available, with many many not being able to get them or having to wait in long queues...but I do appreciate what you are saying although with a fairly simple mod that telescopes there isn't alot of ways to properly tool it (see Apples ridiculous lawsuit vs Samsung on a related note) With that said SMOKtech has generally done an outstanding job of innovation in their own right with many of their own conceptual, original, and whole-cloth products...

Not as clever as Smoktech.
They're saving a fortune by not having to pay designers and development costs.

My kick is doing well, but this probably isn't the right pv if you are going to want to change it often.

I've got it down to a science. Changed the wattage on the Kick about 4 times, and can pop the kick out quickly. I do have a nice pinchy grabby thingy though, and that helps. :D

Not specifically vented so far as I can tell, but there is room to vent in the button and threading on the middle pipe IYSWIM.

I had figured SMOKtech did not put a venting hole in the bottom because of the firing button and this is what they told me:

[5:06:06 AM] SMOKTECH: there is no need , the telescope's buttom and threads all can vent , vent is no problem for sure , if u search u will find that a lot of mechanical mod of this kind on the USA don't have visiable venting hole as well

Wow. I really need to start reading ahead, and seeing if questions are already answered.

What they said! :D

Shame Smok didn't copy something that had a vent in it.

Yeah, they should have. I would think that would be a standard for everything today whether it really needs one or not. People like to see that hole. But it's not that hard to drill an inconspicuous hole in the base somewhere if that's an issue for you.

Not really. Most mods have holes in the base of the unit, and claim that it is for cooling. The issue with this, heat rises! Base holes still allow for the inside of the unit to be a heat pocket, since they are sealing the tops. Really, what are these mod makers expecting these little holes to do sitting at the base of the unit, and getting covered when it is placed on the table?

With the Telescope, every piece of threading is a vent. There are threads 1/4 from the bottom, and 1/4 from the top (with my kick/18490 or an 18650 battery. Since this is across the top and the bottom, cooler air can come in from the bottom, and hotter air escape from the top.

Yes but in my expereince the quicker I get my venting done the quicker I can cool off...

In my experience the quicker I get my venting done the quicker my stomach feels better... which really is more closely aligned to venting in an APV.

I read the announcement for it about 6pm that evening, LD. I woulda taken a ride down there if I had known.

We are planning the next one to be in about 6 weeks from now. It was a lot of fun, and you ARE going to the next one. I will make sure you get the announcement. Make sure to join Central Florida Vapers on Facebook. That's where we plan it, and you could bring a lot to the planning.
