Hello all! I just wanted to say thank you for all the information! This forum really helped me my research on what's the best e-cig for me!

I just thought I'd share with you why I am determined to give vaping a shot and kick my analogs to the curb. It unfortunately is not a happy story. Well here it goes.
Two and half months ago my grandpa was admitted to the hospital because he was have trouble breathing; he was diagnosed with lung and liver cancer. A short 6 weeks later he peacefully passed away at his home. My grandpa was atleast a pack a day smoker and he started when he was 11. I miss him alot, but atleast I got to say my goodbyes.
Seeing what lung cancer does to you is not a pretty sight and it has made me determined to eventually kick the coffin nails. However, I don't want to quit. I enjoy smoking too much. So I'm hoping that vaping will make happier than actual smoking.

Confessiong time!
I'm terrified that I'm some how screwing up. I bought an eGo-T ultimate starter kit and 30 mls of juice and I hope I made the right decision. Does anyone have any suggestions of anything else I should get to make my transition from analogs any easier?

Thanks for listening and all the support!!

Kallie, the main thing is to get started...the T can be a bit fiddly to use but many love 'em and can give you advice on tweaking them...if they just don't do it for you, you have a good base to start and any of the 510 cartos and other accessories will work...like I said, the main thing is to get started...good on ya for making the decision to be a healthier you....................

Hi and welcome to the forum :)
You're on the right track. Most of us have some variation of an eGo around somewhere. I use one daily. Once you get the hang of it you'll be fine. Sorry to hear of your grandfather. Stick around here and ask questions. There's always someone around to help out with any issues that come up.
Take it easy and take your time

I would recommend the following, both as backups and for specific uses

- One pack each of Boge 3 ohm and Boge 2 ohm cartomizers (learn on the 3, then you may like the hotter 2's better). These will be a great backup if you are cleaning atomizers or have atomizer problems and you may prefer them or prefer to use them for clingy flavors you don't want in your atomizers. Most people use cartomizers. They did before tanks showed up a few months ago and still do.

- A plain 510 atomizer and 510 drip tip - great for testing juice samples as well as a backup way to vape

- one spare charging cable because it's good to have spares of everything

Tanks like PG juices with 30% or less VG, but some thinner or thinned 50/50's may work
Cartomizers like Boge - I find they work best/longest with 10-20% VG though 30% will work
Drip tip and atomizer - any PG/VG as long as it flows fast enough to keep the atty damp

Hiya and welcome! I was in your shoes not that long ago posting on this very forum. Very confused but very determined! Thanks to the generosity of the members here I was sent a ton of stuff to get me started. I've been away from the forum for a while due to health issues (I actually had a heart attack last year at age 42 so getting off analogs is literally a matter of life and death for me with a stent in my heart now) I'm feeling better finally and wish to Pay it forward to a new member or members now :)

I've got a ton of e-juice flavors I just boxed up as well as smaller 501 and even smaller 306 batteries to give away. I don't know if you want to tackle DIY (Do it yourself - mix your own e-juices using flavoring and nic juice with PG or VG) yet but I also have a bunch of flavorings as well. Over the past few months I've been experimenting like crazy to find out what exactly I like and in the process not only spent a ton of cash but also got a ton of free samples from suppliers along with my orders. LOL

At any rate if you think you might be interested in sampling new flavors, etc. please PM me and I'll mail you whatever you wish that I have boxed up to go :) The only thing I would ask of you is the same thing the members asked of me when they showered me with vaping supplies months ago..... that someday when you are all set up and know a lot more about vaping that you will PIF to the next new member who happens to post here in this forum asking for help and unable to decide :) It's much cheaper to have someone send you stuff for free to experiment with than to try buying up e-juice flavors from multiple vendors that "sound good" on paper ;)

Trust me, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. LOL But I have finally found "my" sweet spot and am ready to help another person down this journey to better health by passing on the extra stuff that I have now accumulated!

Hi Kallie, and welcome.

About 4 weeks ago, my wife bought one of those little mall-trash eCig kits from a tobacco shop when we were on a recent costal trip. It was mainly out of curiosity and to have something else to do while we were driving, and figured that the sweet flavors in the kit would be a nice change of pace.

She had NO intention of quitting cigs at all.

Over a weekend, she messed around with the thing, and found that the battery was just too small to make for more than a couple cigs-worth of puffing; so, after we got home, she continued to amuse herself with it--switching back and forth between the little eCig and here analogs--but ordered a PureSmoker Prodigy V3.1 @ 6V, and some 32mL liquids. After the Prodigy arrived, she switched-over to it and gave me the eCig to fiddle with, while she had fun learning how to use the V3.1. It wasn't but a day or two, before she told me that analogs just didn't taste good anymore and she got far more satisfaction out of the PV.

I then ordered my own Prodigy, and we've both been tobacco-free for about three weeks or so.

She didn't intend to quit smoking analogs. It just evolved into that.

If you don't get the same "kick" out of the eGo-T, think about increasing the nicotine content of the juice you're vaping. When you reach a comfortable level of nic, just concentrate on enjoying vaping as an alternative, let nature take its course, and see where things go. Everyone is different, so don't impose a lot of expectations on yourself. It has always seemed to me that, if a person forbids themselves something, that's what they find themselves wanting most; so, allow yourself to have a cig when you want one, and make the taste and "hit" comparisons for yourself.

I'm betting that vaping will be a more enjoyable experience for you if you simply enjoy it for what it is, and that cigs will seem more and more objectionable to you as time passes.

Thanks everybody for all the advice. I went with the eGo-T because I drive to classes everyday, spend a few hours there, and drive back. Would the cartomizer hold enough juice to last me say 5 hours? (i really dont want to dip and drive)
Also, do you think the battery life on the eGo-T is long enough to last that long?
Thanks again,
Kallie

There are so many stories like yours on this board. The same thing happened to me a year and a half ago. I bought a Joye 510 after reading this and other forums. By the end of the week, I was down to a couple of cigarettes in the morning and one after each meal. I never really gave up those last few because my wife always has cigarettes around, but I think I could do it easily if I had to go to the store to get one. Still, I am about 40 some odd cigarettes a day removed from the habit and that's a good thing.

Spreading the word is key. People scoff at ecigs and call them fake cigarettes, but they are far more effective than the medical alternatives. The quit rate on Nicorette and nic patches is about 7%. The quit rate on ecigs is about 80% and still, the FDA wants to crush ecigs. It's all about education in the face of propaganda from big tobacco and the pharmaceutical industry.

Congratulations! And, Welcome to ECF!

When you get a chance, sign this White House petition to recognize ecigs as a safe alternative to tobacco. We have almost 2000 signatures and need to get to 5000 to have it presented to President Obama for his review.

I'd fill and carry a couple of extras. A Boge 510 cartomizer can hold about 1ml of juice. The average vaper uses about 3-5ml a day. The 650mah Ego-T battery will normally give you 5-6 hours of heavy vaping, but I'd also carry an extra battery just in case you have a long day. A zip lock bag is good for that. There are also travel adapters that let you use the Ego charger on a 12v adapter in your car. These are available everywhere for $5 or less. You can buy a spare charger cable (without the wall adapter) for about $5-$6, too. One day when your battery gives out, it will come in handy if it's in the glove box.

Hi all,

I've had a PV since 2010 but been on and off it all this while. I managed to go a month without analogs but switched back because i fell sick after using the PV on two seperate occasions with months apart ( coincidence or not i do not know )

Anyways i am determined to give it another shot so would like some advice as to what could have caused me to be sick. Could it be the mix of juice? I have always been on PG and have always hydrated myself while vaping. Will switching to pure VG be better for me or can i try a 50/50 mix?

Also would like to ask, how long can an eliquid keep? This is due to i am now vaping on my 30ml green mint which has been in the closet for almost a year? It still tastes the same but am just concerned.

Also i smoke mainly menthols and am hard pressed to find ejuices which simulates the analogs, i have tried various flavours such as apple , orange , blueberry , energy cow , coffee , RY4 and all sorts of menthols such as spearmint , green mint , polar mint , double mint , menthol but i found that i can only take green mint and energy cow, the rest just makes me wanna puke. Any advice if there are any other flavours which are as mild as the two above and won't make me feel sick or destroy my atomiser with the taste sticking in it? (unfortunately i only have one atomiser at the moment as its hard to come by with parts where i live)

Apologize for the lengthy post and also if i am hijacking OP thread. This is a great place to learn and i am gonna kick those damn analogs one way or another!
