Yes, it does bubble I think. You can actually watch the level of juice in the tank going down when bringing it into the cart too. Not sure about the syringe since I don't use them but I'm sure it couldn't hurt.

Wouldn't suggest the syringe Plarkinjr sir. Flooding is far easier with a tank. You want it slightly dry believe it or not. It's the balancing act of enough juice to keep it from burning, but not enough to leak...
