OK ... I've had a mod that I've been using that is a little different than the awesome PTB Made Easy mode that Kristin did and the ADM mod with the spring (kinda combines both but differently). My problem with all of the PTB mods is they hold too much juice or doesn't wick fast enough if you use a lot of it, but I do love the general wicking abilities of the PTB.

Before, I was taking a straw and making it the length from the bottom of the reservoir to the lips like most of the straw mods. I would then roll PTB (full thing) up then folding it. The difference with my mod has been that I put it in upside down and cut it off at the top to leave two round pieces of rolled up PTB at the top so the flow would be from top to bottom on the pieces. This works really well and allows you to fill the entire cart with juice, but the main problem with it was the pieces would come out or stick to the atty when refilling. There really isn't a nice way to put them back in because this method is only easy to do with a full folded piece.

I've been trying to find a way to keep the rolled up pieces (which are really small and only on top) in the cart when it's removed from the atty. I noticed someone mentioned needles to poke holes for air (I don't really have that problem with this mod anyway). Instead, this is what I did

1. Take a blank cart with nothing in it at all
2. Roll up a full piece of PTB like the other mods (but a full piece)
3. Fold the PTB in half
4. Put the non-folded end (two end piece) into the top of the cart lengthwise (the two pieces will be touching the sides of the cart where the air vents are on the cart)
5. Pierce the side of the cart with the needle (air vent to air vent side) passing through the PTB pieces to hold them in place (no heat needed - just press against something hard or use pliers)
6. Cut off the excess needle

The needle holds them in place which was my only problem with this mod. I only made one of these so far because I want to try it for a while, but I really am liking it. I get the following benefits.

1. The PTB stays in place
2. There is nothing below the PTB to take up space
3. For some reason, the drag is really easy (not sure that is a benefit or not)
4. Taste and vapor are good like they were without the needle.
5. I can scooch over (hopefully that is a word outside of Texas) the PTB pieces to fill the cart with a needle type dropper and it vents air allowing a full refill. I've topped it off already, but it only gets 7-8 drops like the other mods. Probably because of air.
6. With little PTB, it wicks very quickly and doesn't seem to leak so far. I had this benefit without the needle as well which is why I like this mod in the first place.

The only problem so far, which isn't really a problem for me, is you cannot remove the PTB pieces unless you remove the needle insert. Since I want to reuse this cart a lot, I don't see this being a major issue unless you change flavors a lot in one cart. Not sure about cleaning the PTB or if that will be a problem yet.

Now I need you smart folks to improve on this design or tell me what you think! I wouldn't have been able to make this without all of the awesome mods here in the first place and I'm sure people will have better ideas on how to improve it. If there is an easy way to replace the PTB, this would be a perfect mod for me. Right now, it's a matter of using a new needle if I want to swap it out.

Can anyone else try this and tell me what they think? I can probably post pictures at some point (not sure I can do that yet). It's pretty straight forward though.
