A little help in guessing what kind of battery this is would be appreciated!

It's apparently 9.2mm diameter so I was guessing 4081 but I'm not entirely sure. My friend has this model and I can't figure out for sure if my old 4081 charger will work for it and I don't want to blow up any batteries.
Any guesses? :)

I think it's a e-cig battery, looks like one anyway.

If the connectors match, connect it up outside pointed in a safe direction and see what happens? :)

While I like this approach in the "I've had a few beers so let's do it" kind of way, I'd like an approach that doesn't involve the possibility of the battery shooting off and possibly hitting the neighbors dog. Hahaha

Well maybe you could connect it with the charger unplugged just to see if it even threads. It would probably help in IDing the battery.

For safety's sake, there is no reasonable way to know what alternate charger is safe to use. Could use a 4.8v charger. But lot's of these cheapo kits use just a simple 5.0v dongle instead. What polarity is it? Dunno.

One friend started with cheapo Chinese cigalikes with that type of atty in your pic. Her experience was they were 4081. But as you noted these kinds of kits/batteries almost never tell you anything about connector size, polarity, or have any markings on the charger. Not worth risking a battery explosion.

Wait. I don't know what to think anymore. Are 510 9.2mm or are 4081 9.2mm? I'm so confused. Why the heck can't Chinese vendors put the number on any of their stuff? Most of them only say whatever number is "popular" at the moment... Like calling an eGo a "LAVATUBE" or something. This is the part about vaping I don't like. :p

I think 9.2mm is the outside diameter of the carto. The 510 thread diameter is 6.82mm and 4081 threads are 7.79mm, at least they are at my house. The 4081 are coarser threads than the 510 threads (4081 have fewer threads and they are farther apart). You can try measuring again to see if this helps.

Have him buy something that he knows what it is?

I have to agree here. These cheap unlabeled kits are just not worth the head ache. It would save both of you a lot of time to just buy a good 510 kit or a 901 kit that will be easy to use. It will also be much easier for him to upgrade in the future which almost always happens.

I have already replied saying that he ordered a better kit. I have two eGo batteries with tons of carros and juice, I had him order the same. Just trying to buy time before his order arrives next week. :p

Go to Walgreens and buy a Blu til the kit arrives.

This is the second choice. I think he has the money to spare and he could just get a one battery kit to hold him over. I'd still like to know what kind of battery comes in that cheap Health E Cigarette though since my mind is stubborn and once I ask a question I feel like I gotta know. ;)
So detectives of ECF, what do YOU believe the batteries in this kit are?
This is the 9.2mm version of cheap garbage V9 9.2mm 180mAh double stem ecigarette(electronic cigarette) white color Tobacco flavor (8mg nicotine content) US Plag
And this is the m401 old version of the same junk kit that's 8.5mm V9 8.5mm 180mAh single stem ecigarette(electronic cigarette) Menthol flavor (8mg nicotine content) US Plag
