a little help please

So my gf and I have been using ego style cigs with an aspire bottom coil the last few months. This weekend I splurged and bought a provari and an aspire nautilus tank. It's great with one small problem. The flavors of the juice we are using are much more potent with the Ego twist at 3.2 and the aspire bcd than the provari. I've tried adjusting the voltage from 3.0-4.2 and don't really notice a change in the potency of the flavor, and I've tried using each different air intake setting on the nautilus with similar effect. Is there something I'm doing wrong that makes things taste better (stronger) with the ego than the provari? What can I do to get the same taste level with the provari?

I do notice the provari/nautilus deliver a much thicker vapor and we're going to have to lower the nicotine level because we get a much stronger buzz much faster with the mod.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you click 13 times with the Provari you will find out what the atomizer is on the nautilus.. I.e... If it reads 1.8 that's your resistance .. You should add 2 to that and start vaping at 3.8v to around 4.2. Any less voltage than 3.8 might be too weak.. If you google or ECF search for ohm chart that will give you an idea of what voltage will give you the best vape for your coil resistance .. Also I'm assuming you've steeped your juice, which always helps the flavor pop... The air flow will help with determining your draw.. Easy or hard be how much air your mixing though... Hope that helps a little ...good luck and congrats on your Provari.. You can't go wrong with a Provari btw :)

yeah, I'm using the 1.6ohm coil and I've tried every power setting from 3.2 - 4.2 Above 3.8 it starts to have a bit of a burnt taste. I've followed the charts and have tried to stay within the power settings they recommend. The juice is the same stuff we put in the ego/ aspire bcd...we fill both with the same juice and it just tastes stronger with the ego setup. Figure I have to be doing something wrong.

Have you tried putting the Nautilus on the eGo batteries? They should handle 1.6 ohms. I can't check because you don't say which ones they are. It'll look a bit odd, but no problem there. I use a Protank II and a Russian 92% on an eGo Twist while I wait for Singapore Post to ship my VW mod.

Are you sure that the taste that is muted is that of the juice? I've just moved up from EVODs, and the taste is smoother with less of a burnt taste at whatever voltage I vape. I'm putting that down to the EVODs adding the burnt taste. The EVOD head I recoiled and wicked with cotton has the same smooth taste. Of course if you have a tobacco liquid, you may welcome those overtones.

I have noticed distinct differences in flavour between tanks and smaller clearos. For example, I much prefer the Kanger mini tanks to the protanks. I do not know why but suspect the juice cooks a little in the larger tanks. In the Aspire range, I have tried and still use the standard BDC and the mini glasso and happy with both, although the standard tastes a little better. I am reluctant to try the maxi. I have also found similar results with larger carto tanks vs the smaller Boge F17.

I do enjoy vaping with the provari, but use egos with basic clearos when I am out and about.

I guess it comes down to preferences, but the smaller units work best for me.

Having said that, I have just ordered my first RBA (Aqua clone from Fasttech) on a whim. Yeah, I know, perhaps not the best for those new to RBAs, but hey, I watched the video, so I thought I would give it a shot. This may well be my last venture into a tank system.

I bought what is now the Russian 91% style clone in SS from them about a month ago for ~$20 (was the after Christmas sale and I had a $5 credit). I love it, best $20 I've spent in a long time. The things as heavy as a tank (holds 4.5ml). Good luck with the Aqua! :toast:

Cheers,
Steve

Was very close to trying the Russian. Still might but I think I will wait to see how the Aqua turns out.

Off topic, love the quote in your sig. I quite often use another of Mark Twain's lines as a sig:
"Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most."
