I learned on smok DCT carto tanks. Pyrex, Notched flange cartos, which add ease of the tank not spinning on the carto. Only silly part was learning how to apply ohm's law to a dual coil. Not hard now, but was a little overwhelming for me to start with as an innocent carto virgin.
I'm a total carto .... now, 10 weeks later. I'll stick my carto into anything with a pulse.![]()
I didn't know the review was old when I bought mine. Also, it looked more solid than the others.

So should I still go get the 'slap yo mama' from the site in the video? Or are there better ones out there now?
I don't think so. There are ones now that double as drip tips, but the ones I have seen are longer than the SYM. I think longer would be harder to use, but everyone is different. I'm sure others will pop in and say how much they like the one they got from XXX, which was less expensive. Shrug.
I am just going to go with that one--since it is SS--
Now one more question and I will try to stop asking for tonight--
which cartos do I need to order, that are easy to use and give good flavor?
What tank do you have (or are going to get)? That will determine the length of the carto. I like Smoktech cartos. Others prefer IKenVape or Boge - it's personal preference.
I don't like those tanks. My first tank was an IBTanked, so I was spoiled early on. I got a couple of the Smoktech ones and, I'm sorry, they look like they came from the $ store. And with the notched bottom you can't hot swap.
ETA: WTH?? Where did that last line come from?
That is a good question--I saw that you liked the IB tanks--is that good to start with? Do you recommend the longer ones? Oops--that was another question...
I know that was directed at Oce, but I'll interrupt. I'd recommend standard length to start. XL tanks are great once you find a flavor you can stick with for a large storage tank. And it may be a couple cartos before you learn behavior that makes them last long enough for an entire XL tank worth of juice.
And, I think most here will tell you IBT is a fantastic tank for beginner or veteran.

Ahhhh, you know. Just not over wattaging them. It's a mistake that a first time carto user could easily make. Or not priming enough, but I think we covered that pretty well here.
I guess an XL would be fine for a first go, I just feel like standard is called standard for a reason. Lol
I have mostly XLs, but I think the standard size look nicer. That's just me though.

Pre, you did a pretty good dance on that oneI'm too tired to write a coherent (twisted) reply. More seriously, thanks for the info. I'm thinking Santa will bring me some of these for Christmas. Night!
