I decided to get my modest little bit of stuff organized, and I had some junk wood laying around. Still need to screw everything together, sand it, and stain or paint it.

Nice work!
I have been on this forum since April and now I have to keep most of my gear inside my desk. I can't let the wife see everything!
Stick around here and there is plenty of help to spend your money!
Yeah, this is my first vaping forum. But I know how they work. I'm a member of a few truck forums. lol

I wish I had the tools and know-how to do that! My bro-in-law is a cabinet maker...I'll have to hit him up sometime and have him make me something. I need those weird longer slots for my box mods.
My dad has all kinds of tools. I had half of the stuff he does. Those long ones look a little rough still. I really need a router to finish them out. I used Forstner bits for everything and then sanded with my Dremmel. Now that I kind of have an idea of how to do it, I might go to Lowe's and get some good cabinet wood to make another one out of. I bet your brother could make something really nice for sure.

I have to much stuff. But, I do like my active bottles and toppers near me on the desk. The upper row is 1 3/8 holes for smaller botteles and the bottom back row is 1 1/2 for 30ml bottle. The topper sits in front of its bottle unless it is on a mod. I screwed them together, sanded, and clear-coated 47 times. :)

Looks nice! Did it take that much to avoid the wood scent? Or you just did that for looks?

I was joking about the 47 coats. They are just 2x4" and 2x8" pine. I did a coat or two and lightly sanded, then sprayed again and sanded again. I think the last 2-3 coats took the longest because I wanted them to completely dry.

I also stapled a thin towel to the bottom so it wouldn't scratch.

No smell that I ever noticed.

One thing I did notice, with these being pine, my tanks picked up a little bit of a pine scent. I hope when I get some stain on it, it'll prevent that.
Let the stain dry thoroughly (at least a few days).
Then coat with a water based polyurethane.
    This should eliminate any odors.
Oil based urethane will take longer for the odor to dissipate.

Test-stain something and smell it before you stain your project. My husband made me a little something like yours for my tanks, and he stained it, and I put my tanks in there, and then I couldn't use them for a WEEK. I had to put the holder outside, and the tanks on a shelf. Fortunately, I didn't put EVERY tank in that holder. The short of it was, the next holder he made for me was UNstained. I'd rather smell the wood... ;)

Oh, just saw @puffon suggestion of urethane. I didn't think of that. Maybe hubby doesn't have any. Maybe it would have helped! LOL! All I know is it took forever for the stench of that stain to go away.

Isn't cool to make stuff you are going to use Everyday?

And every time you look at it, you recall the Set-ups involved. And the steps that were Needed to Finish It.

I'll have to remember that and pick some up.
